very good despite some mythological f ups

Apophis's followers should have been the reptilian serpent type folks, the Jackal type beings would be either Sett or Anubis. Apophis being the god of chaos, darkness makes for a good choice of Egyptian god to fall to the outsiders though, thoroughly enjoyed the incorporation of the Celtic Pantheon.

Need a different voice acting style

the narrators sound like they're talking to children. like theyre "above" the audience. the male voice pausing constantly like they need a child to understand "grown up talk" and the female voice sounding like theyre constantly trying to make friends with 4 year olds.
it 'sounds' like they're narratong instead of becoming the characters.

A great start the series for the price.

This is a great series you get three of the books for one credit. I read one of the reviews and I do not understand what their problem was with this series. I think it’s got a great plot the characters develop and there’s not an over amount of stats. Some books overwhelm you with stats all the time. I believe this series actually has a good compromise of sharing stats only at ending of books or upon getting new skills or levels. I definitely can’t wait to check out rest of series.

Is worth an investment.

Writing this after finishing the 1st book. Is both fast paced and slow at times. The themes make sense for the lore and world building. May not leave a lasting impression for the listener, depending on how they feel about certain things. My impression is that Jake will make an awesome wife.

Very Disappointing

The story just seems incredibly boring and feels like the author took ideas from other similar series but didn't know how to incorporate them well. The story also seemed to be rushed in some areas that I think there could have been more detail. Along with the bland storyline, the performance just seemed mediocre. The emotions of the narrators just don't seem to be there. The female narrator tries to add emotion, but she doesn't really seem to be into it whereas the male just doesn't have much narration to actually do.

poor writing and storytelling. incredibly bland over-all. None of the characters really matter, at least I dont have much of a reason to care about them.

how did this get published?

a nerdy introvert MC who doesn't speak much. he's completely awkward, zero self-esteem or confidence. everyone is so nice a polite and there are never any romantic strifes or conflicts. makes me want to barf. no one group of people much less a romantically involved group never get upset or have issues to work through. the very few spicy scenes are rushed, very little description and poorly written. either the author is inexperienced with women and/or relationships in general or doesn't have the imagination to write spicy scenes. I guess anyone can publish trash these days.

I tried, I really did but this isn't for me.

I gave this one a shot on both the audiobook and kindle side. I almost could keep it up reading it, but honestly having heard the narration I couldn't go back to a speed skimming of the book. The combination of the material quality and some characteristics of the performance just made it tough to go back to.

A standard harem fantasy book but with a rather wooden interpretation of its female characters leaving their interactions feeling oddly like those of NPCs or puppets - something that the makes the character's interactions with them as unfulfilling as a night alone compared to one in company.

Compared to other works by the author this is a good effort, but not my first priority to continue if I have another potential option.

It's okay

The description for 2 stars review is a perfect fit for the book, "It's okay".

The story is probably the most generic LitRPG I've ever listened to. Its formulaic and predictable if you are familiar with the genre. There's pretty much nothing original or special about the story, you probably heard all of it in another story before.

Its also steady paced and consistent, easy listening on the side. The performance was great most of the time, with only a few jarring parts. As long as you don't mind the harem lit content, about a dozen or so sex scenes and constant horny quipping, 48 hours of content for a single credit is a great value deal.

Overall, tho, it's just okay.

this one's not for the boys

half the story is him reaffirming his girls, the other half himself. way too much stat crunching, not enough character development. I couldn't finish the book because it was just too cringe. suggest cotton swabs for your ears to staunch blood flow fater listening.
