About this listen

A quaint English fete. A village full of secrets. A shocking murder.

In 1920s England, private detective Henry Fleming is visiting his friend, retired author Lily Riley, in the quintessentially English village of Fulbridge.

Tragedy strikes when a resident is murdered, stabbed through the heart, in the historic local church.

When an inexperienced Scotland Yard detective arrives to investigate the case, Lily is accused of the terrible crime. With no sign of a murder weapon, and no obvious motive, Fleming realises it will fall to him to prove his friend's innocence and solve the baffling case.

For fans of Poirot, Miss Marple, Columbo, Jessica Fletcher and all their wonderful whodunnit / howdunnit mysteries.

This looks to be a great series

so far ... great ... where's the next book? Nothing like a lazy day read.

Cosy, fun and sweet!

Really enjoyed this cosy mystery-good characters, a plot that keeps one guessing (almost ;) to the end and a likable protagonist. The narration was spot on as well. I’m hooked!

Nice little story

The story was nice and short. The narrator lacked the skills to change voices and it was often difficult to make out who was talking in a conversation.

Entertaining

I liked the overall story. The author did a good job developing characters. The reveal was much like a Poirot reveal. Enjoyable.

Clever plot

I gave this book a try since it was included in my membership, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. It was a shorter book about 4 hour, plot was very good, developed at a great pace and easy to follow. The characters were introduced gradually so one did not lose track of them. Narration was good too. I look forward to book 2.

Absolutely Loved It!

So the prelude indicates that this is a who done it that will keep you guessing the whole way through. I didn’t believe it but gave it a go anyway and all I have to say is well done! Loved the storyline and the wonderful narrator. Can’t wait to read/listen to more!

Enjoyable, not exciting

Pleasant story but most of it seemed to lack emotion. Little twist at the end was fun. I struggled with the narration a bit, the voices seemed to sound the same.

Thoroughly Enjoyed

Wasn’t sure how I would like a male narrator usually only listen to women, he was perfect, the story kept me wanting more, at times I gasp in surprise, laughed other times, had me guessing to the end “Who Done It” anxious to start next book in series.
