The Best Book in the Series!

I like my books dark and this one hit the mark. The plot is very predictable but it was still enjoyable. I liked both main characters a lot. The FMC had gumption but not over the top as many authors do with a strong female. If your looking for a good romance with a bit of darkness this story is what you're looking for.

Marcus is amazing

My God, this book. Marcus could just be pure evil, but as you learn more about him you find he's got layers. I listened to the audiobook and I honestly don't think anyone other than Shane could have done Marcus justice. Rachel was perfect as Evelyn. She really brought all of the emotion into her performance. A standout scene for me was the meeting with Marcus and his family. His performance was really fantastic in that scene. This story is gripping and suspenseful, crazy and hot as hell.

Good but not quite great.

After finishing Dangerous, I immediately wanted Marcus’s story. He is such an intriguing character who is dark and oh so dangerous. Evelyn is a honey-trap, sent to steal from Marcus. However, she gets more than she bargained for when she meets this enigmatic brother. Both are drawn to each other, in ways they can’t explain. When confronted by her “employer” about the flash drive she stole from Marcus, she finds herself protecting him, consequences be damned. She is taken and beaten, but Marcus comes to her rescue.

I really liked both characters and once again the narration was fantastic! Marcus is dark and dangerous, but with a surprising soft side. Evelyn is the perfect strong woman in need of a little support in her life that is killing her slowly. However, his need to have a baby with her seemed a little out of place. I loved how compassionate Evelyn was toward Marcus and how protective he was of her, but I think the middle of their relationship was a little rushed to their conflict. Add the chaos of the ending that tackled some major plot points rather too quickly for my taste, and combined caused this second story in the series to fall a little short of the mark for me. It was a good story, but it had the potential to be great.

Who Knew?

Such a “monster” of a story could be so sweet. I love Marcus, he is so sweet. I really enjoyed this story. ❤️

Enjoyed this one!!

Call me a push over, but I loved this story. This monster of a man could be vulnerable with one woman (love it) and did everything in his power to keep her safe and his. Yes it was a little far fetched that a hardened assassin would love so deeply so quickly and have such a blind spot where his love is concerned, but I loved every minute of this story. Rachel Knight and Shane East did a great job with dramatic interpretation of the characters.

Hot!

Dark, dangerous, and delicious.

Normally, I don't listen to darker romance, but this one sounded so good, and it did not disappoint. Really interested in reading some more of her books.

I will start with saying, I did not read the first book in the series, but I didn't feel lost. I'll have to go back and read the blurb for the first. Marcus made the best hero. So dark and dangerous. He has the sex appeal. Nora definitely delivers on some heart-pounding, throat-swelling emotion that you would expect from this kind of romance.

If I had to find something wrong, maybe his possessiveness was a bit fast? But I also feel like it's part of this sub-genre. He sees something he wants, and he will have it. I think his hard edges and Evelyn's soft side will really mesh well together. I definitely wouldn't mind a Monster for myself.

LOVED IT!!!

After a month of not being able to find any decent audiobooks I'm so glad I found this.

Marcus is my favorite "tortured hero" of all time. I feel absolutely in love with him. The heroine was awesome too!

The story was exciting and I couldn't stop listening.

My only issue was with some of the dialogue. Some of it felt forced and unnatural. Like those things needed to be said so were just shoved in... nothing at all to make me dislike it.

I definitely recommend this!!

A good story

I really liked this one. It had a good, solid story that was sexy and dramatic at turns. I gave it four stars because I wanted more detail on why Marcus was the way he was and kinda wished for an epilogue. Narrators were both great and worked well with the story. Would recommend giving this one a listen!
