Millions of Americans have tried out a diet plan at one time or another, yet they fall off because they don’t see the results, or the plan is too hard for them to keep up with. They think that something must be wrong with them or that they are just stuck with the weight forever and that there is nothing they can do to make it better. Intermittent fasting may be the answer that you are looking for! Instead of having to constantly watch how much food you eat and restricting yourself to certain foods, you will focus more on the amount of time for your eating window and fasting window.

Story
I have spent years trying to lose weight. Every diet I have followed promised amazing results, but none of them worked. I’m not alone in this situation, over 60% of us are overweight and the average person will try 55 different diets. The diet industry is failing us! But now I’m happy to report I’ve not only lost weight, but I’ve kept it off too. That’s something that most dieters fail to do. My success didn’t come easily, and I made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I’m ready to share the secrets of my success so you too can lose weight and keep it off - forever!

I have done research on fasting.

Publisher's summary
We’ve been taught by the diet industry that the key to weight-loss success is eating less and exercising more. Both research and experience have proven this theory wrong. Yet we continue to count calories, eliminate carbs, track macronutrients, and cut out entire food groups because the only thing scarier than failing at another diet is trusting ourselves enough not to be on one at all.
It’s time to ditch the diet and learn how our bodies actually work. In Metabolism Makeover, registered dietitian nutritionist Megan Hansen strips away the complexity and confusion surrounding dieting and replaces them with a simple framework that will give you the tools to:
- Learn the science behind the six key pillars of the Metabolic Ecosystem—blood sugar control, muscle, movement, stress management, good sleep, and a healthy gut—and how to adjust each pillar to fit your lifestyle.
- Master the art of long-term weight loss by understanding how to get your subconscious mind on board with change instead of relying on willpower to follow through.
- Use the informed intuitive-eating approach to predict a craving before it starts, manage it once it hits, or prevent it from ever happening in the first place
- Apply the Next Best Choice framework so you can handle anything that pops up, including the Diet Danger Zones (such as vacations and holidays), without going into “f*ck it” mode.
Your body knows how to lose weight and keep it off—you just haven’t been given the owner’s manual yet. Metabolism Makeover empowers you to regain control of your appetite, mindset, and life.
Critic reviews
“Finally . . . a much-needed antidote to the diet industry’s ‘eat less, exercise more’ mantra! I love Megan’s holistic body-and-mind approach to weight loss, and it’s the approach that helped me finally break free of dieting and heal my metabolism. She also provides valuable tools for tapping into your subconscious for true behavior change and long-term results. A must read!” —Katie Wells, founder of WellnessMama.com
“Megan is a breath of fresh air in the health-and-wellness space. She is so in tune with the body, and in an approachable way, she helps people learn what works best for them. It’s not a one-size-fits-all when it comes to health and weight loss, and no one understands that better than Megan. I highly recommend adding Metabolism Makeover to your wellness tool kit.” —Lauryn Bosstick, founder of the Skinny Confidential brand and website
“Megan really nailed it by highlighting the importance of building healthy muscle, which is often overlooked in the weight-loss conversation. Great guidebook! —Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, founder of the Institute for Muscle-Centric Medicine

Yes, yes, yes!!
I’ve been following Megan for about a year and a half or so, have done MM and M3, and bought the book as my companion guide. Having her on Audible made the book and tenants of Metabolism Makeover feel so much more solidified. As a matter of fact, while I was listening in my car, I realized I had about 45 minutes to spare and pulled over at a local park and decide to spend my extra time walking and listening vs driving or sitting in my car. It felt good to get the blood moving, breathe the fresh air, have some late fall sun on my face, and hear Megan lay it all out for me.

Save your money, big long ad to sell program
I've been looking for a scientific and informative book about metabolism and how our body works. It's really hard to find since most books are just trying to sell some diet or program.
In the beginning this books seems really good and I loved the first five chapters, But then it transforms into a conversation about all the people Megan saved with her program and some small details about it, and lots of references to her website "where you can find more" (but you can't, it's just a place for you to buy her programs).
The last part of the book is all about habits and transforming your routine and lifestyle. Which sounds like a sneak peak to her programs, I'm not sure since I didn't buy (and won't) any program.
