About this listen

"An immersive voice, an intriguing story, a wonderful character-highly recommended!" (Lee Child, number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Jack Reacher series)

What if everything you thought you knew about Stonehenge was wrong?

When agoraphobic genius Salem Wiley lands her dream job as an FBI cryptanalyst, she vows never to return to the witch hunt underworld, where ancient secrets encrypted by hunted women have the power to rewrite history. Her resolve disappears when sweet Mercy Mayfair, the child she is pledged to protect, is kidnapped. As the clock ticks, Salem must face the terrible truth that there is only one way to free Mercy: crack the unbreakable code of Stonehenge.

Entertaining Thriller

Hm, not as much growth for Salem from the previous novel as I would have liked to see. Sure, she voluntarily left her home to be stationed in London. I suppose, that is growth but not nearly enough for me. She still required being rescued when she blindly walked through the night 🙄 Overall, this was an entertaining thriller.

disappointed

I really loved the first book, but this book was really hard to get into. It was very slow but then picked up at the end.

good book, a little repetitive and dragged out

this book took a minute to catch my attention. it was a little spread out and a little bit confusing at times to figure out who was who and what was what. it was fairly engaging lots of twists and turns and surprises. it's a little bit drier than some of the books I'm used to but that's just my taste. the biggest thing I liked about this book was how it addressed the deep dark secrets surrounding Stonehenge and tried to unearth them in a creative way. the biggest problem I had with this book was that it took 59 chapters to build me up and it resolved everything in a single chapter..... that was a little anticlimactic for my taste. I like it when you think things are right about to finish up and then boom there's another 2 hours to go and you're wondering how could this any go any deeper? this book just didn't have that it felt a little rushed at the end.

Impeccable Research making for realistic and amazing details in the story.

A detailed story written so well you become fully invested in the plot and characters. A definite must read for puzzle and mystery lovers. Move over Dan Brown, Jess Lourey definitely deserves a seat at the table!

Really entertaining and well paced. I stumbled upon this author by chance and in the last couple of months have listened to all of her books. Her stories are entertaining, well written and really enjoyable.

Remarkable Series

This series is remarkable and surreal to what happens in our real world today. The underground, government secrets, secret societies, politics, FBI along with adventure. Movie worthy!

Good, not great

The narration had a narrow range and the accents were a little off. Engaging story but I wasn’t sure all aspects were researched well enough. But all in all, a pretty good listen.
