Meh

Maybe I am overly picky But this story lacked imagination. I am a huge fan of this genre so I might be comparing it unfairly to many other authors I've read.

To short

This was to predictable and was not worth the credit. Must be the end of agent zero!

Great characters

Ok, I’m hooked. Had a couple Agent Zero books in my library for a while because freebies that sounded interesting. Kinda sorry I waited so long to start the series. This is a great short story that tells about how Zero went rogue then gave up his memories of CIA to go home to his children and avoid assassination.

Having just started the series, this is a great hook. I have no idea how thorough this device worked. I loved the pace of this story and can’t wait to dive into the full novels now. It’s been a good bit since I’ve read a book in this genre. Most are just dry and fail to hold my interest. If the rest of the series is as good as this, then I’ve finally found a new favorite author.

Superb 43 minute short story

Agent Zero/Kent Steele is being sought for elimination by the CIA; actually by his own team. He is caught and executed the CIA believes. This is an excellent short story with great narration.

Need to read this before book 1 story is good but helps to know how it started

Not a new story. If a fan save your $

This short story is good only if you haven’t read or listened to the rest of the grey man novels already. It is a condensed backstory of his efforts to kill Race after his wife’s murder and the memory blocking chip.
Most likely written as the basis for a more recent full novel expanding upon the same events and adventures but now being sold as if something new. I enjoyed the narration but was left feeling exploited

Perhaps this short story will make more sense after reading Book 1. I certainly hope so!

Simplistic, Predictable, and Cliche

I love spy thrillers but they have to be somewhat believable and this isn't. Boring and character copied from thousands of others so nothing really original either.
