Old Folks Like Us
My husband and I are coming up on our own 49th anniversary . . . and not unlike this couple, we have plenty of hidden heartbreaks . . . plenty of different ideas going 'round in our heads . . . but also similar to these two who have 49 years under their belts, we remember the love that started it all . . . and we'd do it all over again. Bravo, for a gentle tale that doesn't try to mask the truth . . . life if hard . . . love is sometimes strong enough to weather it.

Beautiful, hard truths in a pearl of a story
The taut compelling language will pull you into this mesmerizing story that glistens in its truths. Love, loss, the intractability of sorrow-- these elements are handled with such freshness and humor and wisdom. This story blew me away.
