Mark Murray loves his girlfriend, Rebecca Lucio, but she doesn’t love him. She believes their love has withered away, and she has already fallen for another man, but she struggles to formally end her relationship with Mark. But Mark knows everything already - the lies, the deceit, the cheating. He has a plan to punish Rebecca in the most violent, disgusting way possible. He is going to make her sick...unbelievably sick.
Jon Athan, the author of Dr. Sadist and Scattershot, reinvents the definition of "lovesick" in this disgusting, gag-inducing, and extremely violent horror novel.

The twist at the party sets off Mark slowly devises a gruesome plan for revenge.
This is a seriously grim and depraved look at love, loss, cheating and jealousy. It all culminates into an unforgettable story with an ending that will keep you up at night.
Grotesque, Mean Spirited, Original….I love it

Where to begin... this entire piece of art was excellent. What a brave and bold and daring author, as well as the narrator. Right from the start, I had an idea that I was going to love Lovesick. I was NOT disappointed. You could say that this genre is my dirty little secret.
The most disgusting, brutal, grotesque thing I have ever heard. Thrilling and suspenseful. Brilliantly thought out and executed. Absolutely horrific when you consider the ideas in real life, but totally possible. I loved every second of it and will be seeking out the author’s other works.
One man’s literal decent into madness. Beware if you have a weak stomach, enjoy if you love disgust. Don’t take the warnings lightly. 5 stars!!
Brilliant!

Narration was ok but there was some pronunciation issues here and there especially near the end.
I didn’t dislike it and it was an interesting change of pace I’d give it a shot if you aren’t sure you just might scar yourself a little.

The story itself is your basic revenge story amped up on black tar, meth, and a whole bunch of STDs. A lover spurned exacts his revenge in an extremely violent and gory way. I have to hand it to the imagination of the author, the closest thing I can really compare this to is Se7en. Right off the bat, you are thrown into a dark scenario and it just gets darker from there. You get taken to some really quaint places in the neighborhood that really set the scene for the depravity you encounter. None of the story was scary, but you will want to take a shower after and maybe rinse, lather, and repeat a few times. The only thing the bothered me was the seemingly endless supply of cash that Mark had for a burger flipper.
While the main focus is really on the shock value of the scenes, you do get enough of the characters to know that neither of them are really good. Typically, with revenge stories I like there to be at least one redeeming character who you can latch onto, not so much here. I couldn’t sympathize with any of the characters and while none of them started out evil, Mark definitely gets there. While I liked his resolve and psychotic ways, the further his plan progressed the more I drifted away from him and felt sorry for Rebecca. By the time the story ended, nothing surprised me and while odd, I didn’t quite mind it. It was a mixed bag of emotions on a nauseating ride.
Matthew Berry did a good job with the narration. I liked his narrator voice and his subtle changes in tone for the characters. As I didn’t think the characters were meant to be the focal point, I’m glad there wasn’t over the top character voices. Impressed with Berry's ability to read this type of story with a steady voice. I think he told the story how it should have been and with his confident straight forward voice,
