About this listen

Lost on Purpose is the nonfiction adventure narrative of a former technology executive who took leave of the real world to reinvent himself as a 21st-century mountain man. In October-November 2013, Patrick Taylor crossed the Rocky Mountains alone on foot. He passed through one of the largest wilderness areas in the lower 48 to reach and retrace the route of Lewis and Clark in the winter. The sacrifices - vocationally, financially, emotionally - are measured against the benefits by the author in a refreshingly honest, humorous, and inspirational fashion.

Woo Hoo for AW!

This is quite the enjoyable tale. I enjoy hiking but have never trekked. It was interesting to learn about his list, the people he met and his thoughts on his life. Woo hoo for AW!

Keep it Real

As good or better than it needs to be. Fine writer, excellent travel account, and a true arm chair adventure.

Interesting listen-especially if you enjoy the great outdoors!

I enjoyed this free snack listen as an audible member. I was looking for a book with great imagery of the outside and I got that! The narration was good and I liked feeling I could use all my senses while enjoying the book. Quick listen. As an animal lover I didn’t enjoy the trapping stories but understand they were part of his journey.

It was ok

I have no doubt this was an incredible journey for the author. unfortunately the story told was a bit on the dull side. I kept waiting for it to get interesting... and waited... and waited...
