A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Medusa and Cabbage are missing, lost through a tear in the fabric of the multiverse.

Cain goes to Sarpedon, the home of the gorgons, to discover a way to find them and bring them home. Before he can do anything, Hermes, the new king of the gods, sends his demigod children to trap Cain, Hannah, Fred, and Layla on Sarpedon so they'll be permanently out of the way.

After realizing escape is impossible, Cain and the others go through the tear and end up in a distant dimension that seemingly branched from Gaia Prime eons ago. They soon learn that this world bears little resemblance to their own in significant ways.

They meet a group of people with troubles of their own. In order to find Medusa and Cabbage and get home, they'll need to help these people fight off an insectoid invasion from another dimension.

It turns out these people are no strangers to mad gods and world-ending events, so Cain agrees to help them save this universe they call the Overworld.

They soon discover that the insectoids are only a small part of their problem. That there are far more sinister forces lurking behind the invasion.

And if they can't stop them, the infection will spread across the multiverse.

another great listen

Yet another amazing book in both the Cain and Overworld series, and Austin blows it out of the park once again

2 worlds collide in an epic crossover, fun story and highly skilled narration as usual, just great!

happily ever after

I love this series. It's been soooooo good and got me through many work days. But this one? I felt that it was pointless. Was there a villain in this story? Why give Justin a point of view at all? I don't remember anything important about him. He likes tacos.

This was truly happily ever after kind of ending and I basically rolled my eyes. Just based on how boring I thought it was, I won't be buying the next book.

Starting to lose interest....

Let me start by saying that Austin Rising has done an excellent job with all of the John Corwin books that I have listened to. He has a wide range of voices, an excellent cadence, and he hardly ever mis-pronounces a word.

I have not read the Overworld Chronicles because the premise just did not really interest me and many reviews called the MC immature which I know would irritate me. I did listen to the Conrad Edison series which is a spin off and it was pretty good but it still did not inspire me to listen to the main series. I have loved the Cane series for the most part and this crossover was ok but Justin and gang are really annoying and reviewers were right, they are immature. Hannah from the Cane series has always been annoying but just seems to be getting worse and worse too. I am certain there will be more cross over books. Not sure if I will continue with the series or not....
