Really picks up half way through

This book was kind of hard to get through the first half of. The isekai element is rushed and poorly explained in the beginning, and the MC turns into a bit of an overthinking sad SOB, but Pluto’s soon catches stride, and the rest of the book is an enjoyable ride.

Fun!

I love cultivation fantasy and this book didn’t disappoint. It was entertaining and I enjoyed it. There are some things that I believe was missing and would have made the story more compelling but still it was interesting enough to hold my attention for almost 15 hours and that is rare.

it was nice to have a system that rewards good behavior and character

I have watched several original cultivation World stories and read some more with odd in search from Earth type characters as well and this one at least stands a genuine generosity and that the system made the character is given cuz sometimes they get systems sometimes they just have natural talents and this one he's given a system that rewards generous Behavior but he's got odd rules to make it apply you can't just give it stuff to anyone and get a reward the first book is kind of the build-up but you can listen to the book enjoy the laughs and trying to figure out who this guy is she never mentions his name and he doesn't mention much of his history but you can tell he's a fan of Pop Culture by some of the references he makes as he tries to figure out this cultivation world

Good

It’s good. Not a new concept but I like how it’s still now an easy road for the MC. Most of these system x items stories are all easy going and just more and more power with nothing standing in the way. This has a competent MC thrown into an unknown situation and does quite well. Looking forward to the next book.

It had potential but reveals happened in the wrong sequence

This was a good story potential the problem was reveals and potential reveals were made in a way that just did not satisfy you and it left you more frustrated with the author then you would have thought and Maybe you feel this was more a second book than a first book It is a good read it's just they need to do something before this

Accidentally reread it, but still great

Didn't realize I'd already read this online, but the audio performance was so good, it was worth a reread. My only criticism is that the author hasn't really expanded on some things I'd like to know more about, at least not yet. For instance, I'd like to know more about MC's ability, his past, and the past of his host body (not a spoiler if it's in the synopsis). I also prefer to have more worldbuilding in my stories, and I think there should be more description of how the MC struggles to adapt (or at the very least his POV thoughts on why he doesn't struggle to adapt) to his new body, new world, new powers, and new life.

None of my criticisms are worth subtracting a star, though. They're just minor flavor preferences. Overall very good read within the genre, and doesn't rely heavily on tropes, romance, or other writing crutches. 5/5

Not bad, but not good either

This story started off interesting, but it turned into too much of a series of gimmicky transactions. The whole story pivots about a gimmick that the main character has to struggle with and try to figure out how to use this gimmick to give himself an advantage. Other than the gimmick, this is pretty much a standard cultivation story if not that good of one. Still haven’t decided whether it’s worth reading in the next book in this series.
