Missing Link In Recovery
Everyone who picks up a book is looking for the magic bullet. The one thing that will cure all their issues, and the reality is, they are always disappointed.
As a Doctor of Chiropractic myself, I enjoyed this book immensely because it touched on a topic that is underrated in the rehab field; mindset.
Dr Seb does a great job at outlining the mindset it takes when going through your own recovery. His easy to understand explanation of pain puts a great frame work around the meat and potatoes of recovery which is the exercises themselves. With this better understanding and expectation, the exercises have a much greater effect.
I highly recommend this for patients and therapists.

A truly empowering story!
Dr. Gonzales gives us a perspective on how much back pain can affect ones life. The hills and valleys in his story enlighten the reader to the struggles that are so often misunderstood for people with low back pain but also gives hope to those in a similar situation that there is light at the end of the tunnel. The unique perspective of a spine care physician experiencing the very thing he treats every day provides a great platform to convey this message of hope and empowerment. This is a great book for anyone struggling through the battle of back pain and a great resource for finding the solution.

Recommended to all patients
I highly recommend this book to all of my patients dealing with low back pain. The author takes all of the current, relevant information and delivers it in a highly digestible format.
As a clinician who has also beat back pain, this is the story I want all of my patients to hear! It can be done, but it takes work, and awareness.

Absolutely loved this book and think it should be a must read for anyone who has chronic low back pain, has tried and feels defeated by pain, wants to learn more about low back pain or wants to help treat someone with low back pain.

“Fresh perspective”
I would highly recommend, “I will beat back pain,” to any family or friends that have been struggling to recover from pain. Dr. Sebastian Gonzales does an incredible job breaking down the common mental blocks that stop back pain sufferers from healing. He starts by telling you the truth behind the myths people spread about why we have back pain. He gives a fresh perspective on what is causing the pain and how we can actually control our own pain generators via stabilization and re-education on our body’s functions. The audio version was perfect as I could listen while I was driving or cooking in the kitchen. If you’re looking for a book to help you better understand and manage your back pain then this is it.

Not your average back pain book
I purchased the audio version of Dr. Gonzales' book and I highly recommend it. Most books try to just tell you to do this and do that to fix your back pain with a bunch of fluff. Dr. Gonzales does a great job making the information relatable and easy to understand. This book was different as it empowers and educates you on the multiple factors that can contribute to back pain. At the end of each chapter, he gives exercises to work through so you can understand the concepts taught in the chapter read. You can tell he has a passion for helping and educating people. I am grateful for reading this book and recommend if you know someone who suffers from back pain this book will help them start to take the steps towards the journey to healing.
