You can beat this!!

I used to suffer from anxiety and severe panic attacks. No part of it was fun, let me tell you! It took over my life, ruled my emotional state, dictated my behavior, and scared me half to death. It's all I thought of day and night, night and day. I couldn't escape it. I had never felt anything like it, and I was convinced I was dying! I felt alone and helpless, and no matter what anyone said to me, I just never felt they really understood what I was going through. If I had a dollar each time someone said to me, "Just don't think about it, and you'll be fine!" I'd be rich. Did they really think that I never tried "not thinking about it"....bottom line, it doesn't work, and it's not that easy. I know what some of you are going through because I lived and breathed it. But, guess what? I got better, and you can, too. I promise!

The more I learned about anxiety and how common it actually was, the less alone I started to feel. I educated myself with books, similar to this one: How to Deal with Anxiety Disorders by J.D. Rockefeller, Narrated by Mike Norgaard. Combined with prescribed medication, learning about anxiety, itself, not only made it easier for me to accept what I was going through, but it also helped me beat it. It opened my eyes to what others around me were possibly struggling with, too. The information that those books contained gave me hope that there was light at the end of the very dark tunnel I was stuck in...just like this book will do for you.

This audiobook is a short listen at around 20 minutes, but do not let the length fool you! J.D. Rockefeller has included a large amount of valuable information that will help you get through this difficult time, while narrator Mike Norgaard presents it all to the listener in a way that is easy to understand. His narration skills are great! His direct and informative tone will keep you listening to the very end. He is just the type of narrator this book needs so that the listener can benefit from the provided information. The two of them seem to be a great team, and if there are more books out there that they worked on together, I plan to purchase those ones, too. I really enjoy their work!

The book contents are conveniently broken up into chapters so that you are able to return to specific sections and re-listen, if necessary. The included information is as follows:
-What is anxiety and feelings associated with it
-Different types of anxiety people have
-Good anxiety vs. "Not so good" anxiety and how to tell the difference
-How your diet can affect anxiety positively or negatively
-Techniques and strategies to lessen and reduce your anxiety level
-Ways to get a feeling of self-contol back into your life
-Overall review of all the information

Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you may need to take next steps, such as medication and support groups, or this may be all you need. Either way, I highly recommend this audiobook as a guide to help you start feeling like your old self again. I rate this 5-stars across the board because information like this helped me, and it can help you, too! Just remember, no matter how alone and overwhelmed you may feel right now, it does get better if you take the appropriate steps to beat it. It is more common than you may think, and no matter what, you are never alone...there are plenty of us out there who do understand what you are going through and are more than willing to lend a helping hand as you go through this difficult time. Best of luck...you CAN beat this!
