About this listen

Take a deep breath and let go of the reins.

Cecilia "CeCe" Ashby is finally escaping the toxic relationship that has consumed her entire adult life. She's returning to her hometown of Laurel Creek, Kentucky, and her family's equestrian ranch, unsure of what the future holds.

Nash Carter, the newly retired superstar of the Dallas Stars, is Laurel Creek's hometown hero, local business owner, and notorious bachelor. He's also the unofficial fourth sibling in the Ashby clan. It's been years since his days of tormenting CeCe with her older brothers Wade and Cole. So, when CeCe needs a job, he feels drawn to help her.

Nash can't seem to take his eyes off of his best friend's sister, and it seems she's been staring right back, not without animosity left over from his childish teasing back in the day. Despite their initial reluctance, the fire between them ignites and it isn't long before they jump into the flames.

In this steamy cowboy romance, a woman returns to her family's ranch after a broken engagement and finds herself falling for her brother's best friend. The first novel in the Silver Pines Ranch series.

LOVED THIS!

UGH NASH AND CECE!!!!!!

I read this because I’ve had Paisley Hope on my TBR forever, and after getting the Training the Heart eArc I KNEW I couldn’t put it off any longer.

Cece moves back to her small Kentucky town after calling it quits with her insufferable fiance. Retired hockey player, bar owner, and her brothers LONG time best friend Nash Carter is the towns heartthrob. When Cece gets a new job she’s shocked to find her her boss is….the sometimes cowboy Nash Carter….

I LOVE THE PART TIME COWBOY NASH CARTER. My oh my is he sweet ✨ but with a spicy side. I love the protectiveness he has engrained in him and the relationship he has with ALL of the Ashbys.

Cece is so cute, I want to be apart of the Not Angels so bad…and a PINK PARTY what where was my invite?! I love how she follows her heart and restarts her life after leaving her dookie ex.

After reading and making this edit I have decided that I need a night out doing Shania Karaoke.

The audiobook is narrated by Brooke Daniel’s and Thomas Oakley, and I thought they fit the characters so well. The audio was super enjoyable! 💖 produced by @podiumentertainment and available on @audible

If you love….

It Was a Book

It was a good plot. The romance was fine, but there a lot of spicy scenes that didn’t quite help the plot move forward. It was a book that read like a first book. The audiobook was good. I would read from the author again.

Spicy, small town cowboys done right!

I love everything about this one! The cast, the story, the couples, all of it brought to life by fantastic narrators. I was laughing and blushing the whole time. Love Cece and Nash on audio!

Great story; mismatched performers

I enjoyed this one a lot. It had the right about of spice, but fell short as the narrators speed didn’t match each other and the voices didn’t quite match the characters. Nash sounded like a 50 year old man.

If you’re looking for a good time read it

Listen I love bouncing between high stacks, emotional twist books but sometimes you need a good palette cleanser so if you’re looking for something like that this is a good book to read. Paisley Hope writes spice like no other I’ll tell you that much. I checked this out after finishing the Hot Shot series not too long ago (each book is by a diff author) and I will say they of course aren’t similar but enjoyed it. And if you haven’t checked that series out do that now, SO good!

NASH & CECE ❤️

This was my first Paisley Hope novel and it WILL NOT be my last! I loved the setting of this story, in rural KY… I loved the dynamic between Cece and Nash… their past, overcoming their fears of making a future together, and finally getting their HEA… Nash is a gruff, retired NHL hockey player and also a “part time cowboy.” Does it get any better than that?! Except his mouth maybe… 😮‍💨 I listened to this one and narration was chef’s kiss! 🤌🏻💋 This one is a definite must read/listen!

Small town cowboy romance, what’s not to love!!?

Sweet & spicy. Nash is the standard! I loved Ceces strong personality & thought the story was good for a debut! Would have loved to hear this one in a duet style narration. This was my first time listening to Thomas Oakley and really enjoyed his voice for Nash!
