Fighting wildfires is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do and I’m damn good at it. Being the captain of an interagency hotshot crew of wildland firefighters is high-risk, high-reward. The risk blindsided me five years ago when I lost one of my crew and was changed forever. Now the only rewards I allow are to work harder, smarter, and enjoy easy, sexy nights with strangers.

Until I meet Prescott Timmons. Her smart-mouth and adventurous spirit have me forgetting all of my rules—until her past shows up and lies start to feel too familiar. I swear to never spare her a second glance, but when she finds herself in a life or death situation with mother nature, my instincts kick in, and I take action. Stranded and sharing a bed again, we’re forced to face our truth. Do we let this fire burn out or fight?

Fight starts with a bang—literally and emotionally. This fast-paced, high-heat romance drops you straight into the fireline (and the feels) with Cal, a brooding hotshot crew captain battling CPSD and grief, and Scottie, a fierce survivor starting over after escaping a religious cult. Set in a small Pacific Northwest town, this book blends emotional depth with pulse-pounding chemistry from the jump.

The trauma both characters carry isn’t just background noise—it shapes their vulnerabilities, their healing, and ultimately the trust and intimacy they build together. The emotional growth is just as compelling as the physical tension (and whew, the tension is steamy).

Tropes lovers, prepare to swoon:
• Forced Proximity
• Hookup to Enemies to Lovers
• Reformed Bad Boy
• Light Kink
• Found Family Vibes
• Small Town Romance

The spice? Sizzling. I’d rate it a 4.5/5 for heat—and it earns every drop. I gave the overall story a solid 4/5 for its blend of emotional complexity and off-the-charts chemistry.

If you’re into gritty, healing-centered romance with unforgettable tension, Fight is worth the read. The duet narration in the audiobook was phenomenal—Savannah Thomas voicing Scottie was especially perfect. I’m already queuing up book two.

Into The Fire: A Gripping Romance That Burns HOT

I’m trying to gather my thoughts about this book. It explores religious trauma, and that usually isn’t my jam since it is a heavy topic and it makes me angry. But I enjoyed this book and it is good to see people come out the other side of that.

Tropes include:

-miscommunication
-one bed
-forced proximity
-PTSD
-starting over

The narration was fantastic! Savannah and Brandon did an amazing job!

Is it just me or was this a bit lacking compared to the popularity of the series? it was good... but not, "Omg I loved it!" Enjoyable. Decent spice, but not much of it. idk. I just wasn't in love with their story.

Maybe I need a 2nd try

I really felt like the fmc and mmc built a great relationship. He jumped to conclusions at the beginning, which was frustrating, but men aren’t great at communication so I guess it’s realistic. The spicy scenes were great too!

Great story

It was a little bit predictable but that’s kinda why we read books like this. The narrators are good and the duet really makes it worth it. It is a bit spicy so if you hate that this may not be for you, or you could just skip those spots. Happy reading!

It’s good

Loved the depth this book had and the growth of the MMC, Cal.

Cal is in a dark place mentally and all he focuses on is his job and his next hookup. Cal is a wildfires firefighter and after loosing his supervisor/ best friend’s dad, he knows what can be lost so he works hard and makes sure everyone is doing their part the right way.

Prescott/Scottie is new in town after leaving Arkansas. She has no money to her name and is in Washington hoping to be an EMT. Once she gets the job she celebrates with a drink at a bar. Meeting Cal was so fun. The banter was so good and they really feed off each other’s energy. Wildfire season has started and at a location, Cal runs into the new hire, Prescott. Thinking it was a he but turned out to be Scottie, he was shocked. They end up spending time together and hook up.

Cal was burned by his ex-fiance, 5 years prior, so now he’s a playboy. His one rule is not mess with anyone married. Well when Scottie’s secret comes out to him, he pushes her away. She has no clue what happened why he ghosted her. She goes out hiking to clear her mind but it turns out snow was in the forecast. She gets knocked out by a rubble slide. Cal pasted her when she entered and he was exited the mountain entrance. Cal is worried so he goes looking for her. When he does she has a dislocated shoulder, a concussion and huge gash in her head. She’s also locked in due to a large boulder. They hike up together to a mountain firefighter lookout. They end up there 4/5 days. Over the forced proximity they have to talk.

I loved the growth of Cal. He really grew and softened as a person. What I didn’t like is the plot lot of a religion past for Scottie. That’s a personal thing due to religion trauma myself so I really wanted to skip over those parts but it really is who Scottie was.

Over all great book! I absolutely loved the audio of this book!

FMC came from a cult and hiding some secrets because she is embarrassed, MMC stopped believing in love because of an ex so in comes the FMC in a bar and they strike up a conversation trade numbers then next thing you know they find out they kind of work together, but want to do a hookup any ways and that's how it starts. it's a great love story and he falls hard and works hard for her!

i LOVED this book, the pacing was perfect and the Dual narrative was one of the best I've ever listened to. Its everything that i look for in a book and i quickly knew it was going to be a 5 start read. I loved scottie and Callaghan so so much and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

5 ⭐ 3 🌶️ 5 🎧

This was so much fun. I loved that while I wouldn't call it a rom-com, it had some parts that made me laugh out loud. But while it was funny, it was also emotional as Scottie worked to free herself from her past and found this strong, independent and confident woman in her new town.

Cal broke my whole dang heart with his reaction to Scottie's betrayal, but I totally understood at the same time... They were just so cute in the beginning and then it went off the rails so fast 😭 Thankfully watching them find their future happy ever after on that mountain was so dang good. Makes me wanna grab my husband and our battleship boards 😆

The audio was fantastic. Savannah Thomas and Brandon Francis were amazing in this DUET narration and I absolutely loved this listen.
