Mandatory listening
Go to German Shepherd puppy book. This book really helped me understand my German Shepherd puppy and the different phases she went through. This should be mandatory listening for any new puppy owner, particularly if you’ve never owned a dog.

Important
I attribute his well rounded personality and excellent attitude to this book. Follow their instructions and you'll have a well adjusted dog. Especially important when you have a German Shepherd dog like we do.

German Shepherd
I had no idea what she was talking about. I ordered the book "German Shepherd Training" and feel much more confident about getting a German Shepherd puppy from her. The book talks about puppies from birth to the stage of life before the owner takes possession.

Good training guide
The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is there was no training for sibling puppies. I have 2 brothers and that is the hardest part to training them. I am 74 and have had many well behaved pets. But never two at a time like these puppies. Otherwise the book was good but not helpful for my needs.

Wonderful advice
This book gives wonderful advice on how to raise a happy, healthy dog. Your dog just wants to be with you and please you, and this book helps you learn how to understand your new puppy.

Great reference book for GSD owners.
Ordered several GSD books and puppy/training books, and this by far was the best one for learning what to expect at different developmental stages for a German Shepherd. I've owned big dogs before, but Kona is my first GSD. I'm finding the book well written and extremely helpful. I refer back to it constantly and refresh my memory by re-reading it as my pup reaches each new stage. While there are similarities in raising puppies generally for all breeds, I can tell my GSD is way different from my lab, whom I raised from puppyhood as well. After owning a retriever who instantly knew how to fetch, I had no clue how to teach a dog to actually retrieve! Socializing also seems even more important for the GSD compared to other breeds. The GSDs seems to receive a bad rap, because there are so many dogs who have not been socialized properly from the start. Definitely higher needs in this area than my lab. I'm glad I got this audible book and would recommend to any new GSD owner.

Must buy!
A must have book if you're raising a Golden Retriever. It's been 14 years since I raised my last puppy and this book has been and continues to be my best training aid.

Very happy with it
Very happy with it. It really is focused on GSD, it has long descriptions and a lot information without being excessive or just hard to listen.
