Incredible approach to gender and sexuality

Incredible approach to gender and sexuality in a way that is seamless to rich world building.

Good start

Good solid start looking forward to the next book of series. Hope the story continues to develop as I’m invested in the characters.

Could not get past the narrator

I liked the lgtbq representation and the effortless inclusion. However it was a constant battle do to the childish style of narration. Also found the ending very rushed compared to rest of the book

Really liked this one!

I really enjoyed the magic & world in this book. The characters kept things interesting as well. Just sad there’s no 2nd book yet!

Storyline

I started this on Spotify, Spotify cut me off half way through this book!!!! I had to reinstall my audible account to finish, there was absolutely no way I was about to wait a month for this! Saara this was an absolutely incredible journey you took me on! The enemy to lovers and the slow burn is chefs kiss!!! Thank you!!!

It was a fun listen.

I think 4.5 stars would be more accurate. It wasn’t mind blowing but it was an interesting listen and setup for the later books. And I do love me a supplemental pdf.

The tale is captivating

The story is just enough fantasy to be real. This authors use of words is amazing to me. I can create a vivid picture in my mind of everything happening in this tale.

Narrator was not it

I feel like this narrator was possibly the worst choice. Her voice for Lettle was horrid, made her seem like a whiny teenager.

I loved the writing style, but did feel like it was getting repetitive towards the end. Looking forward to the next book in the series, but crossing my fingers that a different narrator at least for Lettle is chosen.

Wow!!

I wasn't expecting to feel nearly as strongly about these characters as I do. Yeeran is intense and lovely and Rayan (spelling?) is full of green flags and Lettle is aggravating and frustrating and I'm not even finished with the book but holy crap I'm invested. There is such a diverse cast of characters of different genders and sexualities - it's not something I've experienced before and as a queer person it makes me so so so happy to read about people like me. I've really enjoyed this so far and I'm pumped to see the end!

The beauty of the created world! The complexity!

Gorgeous world building and character development! And gorgeous queer and biopic representation in all facets of the story! I cannot wait to unravel more in book 2! GIMME NOW PLS!
