It’s hard not to LOVE these characters

I found this book after watching The Ultimatum Queer Love on Netflix and it was just what I needed! Perfect and heartwarming, just enough romance to leave you wanting more. Excited to try another book by Chencia Higgins.

Such a Lovely story

I definitely enjoyed the story and will listen to it again and again. There were parts that were cringey for me. There were the parts that made me laugh out loud, and I had to hold back the tears as to not wake my wife. This book has all the feels. I did not like the recording it is a bit choppy but I enjoyed the narration. All and all 4 stars 4 me.

Captivating

An unapologetically black, lesbian love story that you can't put down and leaves you wanting a sequel. The characters, leading and supporting, were charming and the love between the two leading women was believable. The exploration of family dynamics was wonderfully captured. The narration was a breath of fresh air.

PERFECTION!

This book was sooooo good! It took me through every emotion and I found myself rooting for Kris & D’Vaughn like I had known them my entire life! THIS is the Black Queer Representation I’ve been waiting for 😭❤️

This book is sooooo good definitely on my list of read once a year kinda wish we had another story about Kris and D ❤️

Perfection

I absolutely love this book. The story was amazing and felt so authentic. It’s so satisfying to read a book about love (especially lesbian love) without the unnecessary drama/trauma and over sexualization. The sexual tension was palpable without it needing to be raunchy. I rarely reread books but this one will definitely be read again. It’s that good. I wish there were a continuation of their story. I love their love.

Loved Loved Loved

So many layers, so many relatable moments, beautifully written and completely believable. Though in some moments, predictable.... there were quite a few things that caught me by surprise. Great narration which made the listen easy and enticing.

Amazing love story

We love a black queer love story. You don’t see near as many black lesbian love stories versus white ones. Good to see.

Beautiful Black Queer Love!

This was a delightful, lighthearted love story full of amazing black, plus size, queer, and trans representation - all positive! It’s nice to read a story where the diversity rep isn’t focused on the negative and is just full of joy. The performance was perfect and the character’s personalities all showed through. The only reason for 4 stars is that I’m just not a huge insta love fan. But their connection was clearly very special and they belong together.
