Mitchell personally questioned 13 of the most senior high-value detainees in US custody - including Abu Zubaydah; Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the amir or "commander" of the USS Cole bombing; and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, terror attacks - obtaining information that he maintains remains essential to winning the war against al-Qa'ida and informing our strategy to defeat ISIS and all of radical Islam.

From the interrogation program's earliest moments to its darkest hours, Mitchell also lifts the curtain on its immediate effects, the controversy surrounding its methods, and its downfall. He shares his view that EIT, when applied correctly, was useful in drawing detainees to cooperate and that when applied incorrectly it was counterproductive. He also chronicles what it is like to undertake a several-years-long critical mission at the request of the government only to be hounded for nearly a decade afterward by congressional investigations and Justice Department prosecutors.

Gripping in its detail and deeply illuminating, Enhanced Interrogation argues that it is necessary for America to take strong measures to defend itself from its enemies and that the country is less safe now without them than it was before 9/11.

Excellent book that provides great insight to the CIA’s work after 911

This book was recommended to me by a coworker and i must say it really blew me away. To summarize, this book provides a great insight to the CIA’s actions regarding intelligence collection after 911. James Mitchell provides as much as he can while keeping the story captivating and what truly feels like a candid retelling of his experiences. Exceptional “read”!

Excellent book, well written and delivered

This was a book that kept my interest and provided valuable insights into Enhanced Interrogation and how it was administered as well as why it was administered as it was.

I’d like to thank the Author for everything he endured for freedom’s sake. The work he did needs to continue. It’s that 1% of people that are willing to do what’s needed that protect our precious freedoms!

Amazing candid insight of Jihad terrrorism.

Could not put the book down as the intense real time story unfolds. The facts and evolution of the truth are eye opening. Leaves me with a disdain for the political maneuvering and games the politicians have played the heroes and public for. Scary future ahead prophetic.

every American needs to read this

jihadist terrorists had declared war on the United States. The reason why we were safe after 9/11 was because we treated the terrorists one captured as prisoners of War like we did in Korea Vietnam and World War II. then a new government Kane and dismantled all the interrogation sites and said now any terrorist captured has a right to our American justice system. The same system they are trying to destroy. Thank goodness Trump was elected. Hopefully he will bring back the interrogation sites and humanely interrogate the prisoners and get information out of them to continue keeping this country safe and then try them

Must Read!

Every American should read/listen to this book. Jim Mitchell personifies American patriots who make enormous sacrifices everyday to fight our enemies and keep Americans safe. He details many aspects of his experience interrogating terrorist detainees: building on existing military training programs to develop a safe and highly effective program which gleaned vital information from captive terrorists, while working within an at times confounding bureaucratic structure and duplicitous senior Democrat politicians. Do not believe what you have heard or read in the MSM or the output of the “official” Feinstein Senate report. For effectively implementing a thoroughly vetted covert program, Mitchell and his partner Bruce Jessen have been roundly castigated by those pushing a false narrative in court and in popular opinion. This book sets the record straight.
