And under James Comey, McCabe was deeply involved in the controversial investigations of the Benghazi attack, the Clinton Foundation's activities, and Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.

"McCabe is a nuts-and-bolts narrator; he speaks in an earnest monotone, clear but unchanging. This works nicely in covering such things as the FBI's progression from the J. Edgar Hoover days of chasing bank robbers and suspected Communists to the more modern focus on organized crime and terrorism. Or, better still, when McCabe describes his role in tracking La Cosa Nostra, Russian mobsters and the Boston Marathon bombers. The stories he tells are strong enough to carry themselves." Excellent, full of facts, honors the FBI.

Extensive coverage of everything from early russian mob investigation to Boston marathon bombing, Comey's firing, Mccabes firing, and the moments of courage and lack of courage by those involved. Adds integrity and honor to FBI as an institution, along with those who serve in it.

Fascinating

This is a memoir of McCabe’s time in the FBI. He provided a great deal of information about the inner workings of the FBI. I found that part of the book most enlighting. The information he provided about Trump and his administration was similar to materials provided by many other authors. I found the discussion about Attorney General Sessions disturbing. It appears the questioning by Senator Kamala Harris revealed more than we understood at the time. I found McCabe was a bit light in some sections about his involvement and reported only generally as to what was happening. I gather that was to protect himself. I hope that at some future date he will feel safer writing about what role he played. He was also light about his personal life.

The book was well written and researched. I found the overall information in the book informative and suggest this book be added to a growing list of must-read books. I also found the book a bit scary as far as Trump and Sessions are concerned.

The book is nine hours and twenty minutes. McCabe does a good job narrating his own book.

Important story

I have listened to a number of books from audible, the majority of which pertain to politics, a topic that has unexpectedly consumed my interest over the last couple of years. I have prided myself in the effort of acquiring a rational understanding of the changes our country is going through. After finishing this book I have no reservations in concluding it is a critically important presentation of the facts. It presents a truthful perspective on the Trump administration and the social and political forces that have led to its existence. Let us hope that the ideas presented herein can gain wider acceptance and provide the basis for overcoming these ongoing threats to our democracy. Thank god the FBI and the rule of law continue to push forward and speak truth to power.

Enlightenment

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to McCabe narrating his amazing book. His story caught my full attention for 7 hours and I was struck by so many details described in the book. I was
embarrassed to be a Republican but McCabe brought me back to reality, to where we should be, not where we are. I am extremely proud of all FBI was able to achieve against all
odds in a whirlpool of uncalled insulting attacks and thankful for having such dedicated people working discretely to rectify the wronged, to look away and forgive insults, and emend our democracy. Thank you.

How can 1 person - Trump - inflict so much damage😡

Written by a lawyer & trained FBI agent 20 yrs experience who knows all about how unethical mob bosses operate. His account backs up so many others that scream THIS IS NOT NORMAL & TRUMP IS A BULLY TYRANT LIAR that will say or do ANYTHING to save himself from his criminal activities before & during his presidency. It’s a great listen & scary to hear the “crap” that comes out of Trump’s mouth. Highly recommend this book

Best book ever. The most enlightening and valuable read that I would hope every citizen and resident in the country would read or listen to with an open mind.

History will not and should not be kind to this presidential administration. This is one story of why.

What a fantastic book. I could not stop listening to McCabe's record of events. He is a keen observer and a very fine writer and narrator. I'll buy his next book!

A great peak behind the curtain of the FBI. Eye opening and reads quickly. Interesting look at the times we live in.

Anyone interested in the truth of what happened with Comey's firing, the real story behind the Russian collusion investigation and how the FBI really works, this is the audiobook for you. McCabe is finally able to tell his side of the story without all the pundit's nonsense drowning out rational discussion. Listening to McCabe tell his story will convince almost anyone with an open mind how utterly bizzare today's political environment really is.
