About this listen

Alistern “Stern” Masterson never expected to have the sort of life he found himself living. He was an irregular - a person who looked like the undead and had unusual perks - and his life hadn’t been very pleasant, so he’d written off the idea of ever finding anyone who understood him. Then, an old lady had asked for help, and he’d given it....

Stern was able to rescue Cyra Walot’s shards from the Bloodstone dungeon, after which he was brought before the city magistrate on false charges. Cyra helped him clear his name, and he was set free with the newly reborn Cyra beside him.

Although the rabbit lykian had lived a rough life and died horribly inside the dungeon, she wasn’t about to let that stop her from following her own dream. Seeing her determination, Stern offered to help her. Together, they ran the starting dungeons so that Cyra could develop the skills she would need to survive as a Walker.

Stern and Cyra found a friend in Trish Moxy, an accomplished leatherworker. That friendship blossomed and grew, becoming something that none of them had expected.

The new triad relationship and fledgling crew trained together in Darkstone, preparing to take on the next set of dungeons. These would be much harder, but they felt like they had a chance if they worked together.

After Darkstone, they set out for Waterrock. They were intent on finding people to fill out their crew, knowing they would need more allies for what the future held.

(This book contains non-standard relationships and touches upon adult situations.)

Soul

How much is a soul truly worth?
Even if a soul may be broken or shattered, there are always those that'll pay any cost to see it returned or repaired., even forsaking a new love.

not gona lie the reunions scene made me tear up

I took consider myself relatively new to this author. I read Lucks voice which as of the time of this review has three books out. I really enjoyed the story and decided to see what else was available from this author. Of everything that I saw this Ceres was the one that I found interesting enough to buy into. The narrator did a fantastic job and I very much so enjoyed this story as well. Unfortunately it's just the first two books that are out right now both in audio and ebook form. with that said I think I'm going to continue on with this authors current for back of a better word for polio of work and see if there's not another series that catches my attention. I'll definitely be back to see what happens next with this particular series.

masterfully read

The book was a bit predictable, or perhaps I've just listened to too many of the Author's books. The narrator does a great job changing accents and inflections for the various characters. It's really refreshing to have the variety of voices.

The story feels a bit unfinished as I'm sure there's a plan for several more books in the series.

Semi-spoiler:
There are quite a number of references to other characters from the Alpha World series. There's also some spoilers from those books as this takes place after that series. While it's not necessary to read/listen to those books in order to enjoy this series, I think it adds a bit of context.

I really enjoyed this book, there are quite a few mooshy moments, but it's not overdone, I highly recommend it.

Solid follow up

This was a solid follow up to Dungeon Walkers. Good character progression, leaning more on personal relationships than combat progression in my opinion. Depending on your interests that may impact your enjoyment. I thought it was balanced well though. I look forward to the next entry!

Good sequel

This builds well off the first book. I like the advancement that the characters experience. The buying of chocolates is kind of getting old. People reacting to our MC’s appearance is also getting old. It kind of has to happen but because they are constantly moving around, it happens a lot. Then we get to hear the same interaction again. The polyandry is kind of awkward, too. Despite some weaknesses, this is over all a fun story. I just want more of an emphasis on the dungeon diving and advancement. The narration is very well done.

much better

the first volumn in this series had a weak story and plot and characters were not well developed. the author cleated up all the problems in the second volumn. I think the series will now be great. characters the plot the narration all great. maybe my short attention span could not grasp the direction in the beginning
