Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

Publisher's summary
Everyone knew the urban legend. We lived it.
I’ll never forget the summer of 1997, not for as long as I live.
We’ve all heard the disturbing tales and creepy urban legends about the decaying old building sitting on Dudley Road. But when my friends and I finally gathered up the courage to visit, we concluded they were nothing more than silly stories.
We were wrong.
When we left, we took something with us–and now they want it back. I’m being haunted, and they swear they won’t rest until I return it to them. I try to ignore them...but when paranormal events start terrorizing me, I know they’re dead serious. And when my friends start going missing one by one, I’m terrified that I’m next....
Step into a chilling horror story where spirits lurk in the shadows and nothing is as it seems. Based on real-life events and dripping with hair-raising suspense, Dudley Road is an unforgettable and bone-chilling listen that’s perfect for anyone who loves to be on the edge of their seat. Grab your copy today...if you dare.

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Great Creepy Story
That this book is inspired by true events makes the story all the more creepy. I really enjoyed this story and thought the author did a great job narrating it. I am looking forward to starting another of this author’s books

Urban Legend/Campfire Stories
This is an interesting telling of a local legend from the perspective of young teens who go out trying to find out if there is any truth to the story. It takes several interesting turns as the story progresses. Overall an easy listen. The dialogue can be a bit clunky at times which was distracting.

What to say about the book
It is a very good book for some people. I really enjoyed it for one reason but I can't put that reason out here or it will spoil the book for a new reader. If you are wanting a crazy horror book this one is not it. This one is more of a thinker horror book. I'm safe to say some people will not like it and how it ends others like me don't really mind and enjoy this type of reading. So if you hate sorry. If you love it leave a review and let me know what you think.
