Thomas “Hatch” Hatchfield is an artist derailed by the Vietnam War. Beginning with crayons as a child, he honed his love for drawing as an art major in college and during a semester of study in Rome. Twenty-seven years after discharge, with a gut injury and a Purple Heart, Hatch still wanders Seattle’s Pioneer Square. Dogs Don't Cook definitely shows you a side of mental health issues and how they can contribute or go hand in hand with substance abuse. This book may have a funny title but it goes deep into the heart of the matter. The storyline combines drama, suspense, PTSD, substance abuse with a side of romance. I really like it even though the subjects are dark in nature. I highly recommend this book. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own volition.
