The narrator makes the book
When you want Military science fiction read right R.C. Bray is the man! For proper, modern military sci-fi, this book set the standard. This book is the literary grandfather of stories like Expeditionary Force and Battlefield earth. The only thing missing is a jar of skippy in the mess hall. But man! Great story, and a great listening!

Great story and narration m
This was my second Heinlein book, and it was a great listen. I finished it in a couple of days, which is very fast for me. It made me realize the difference between a book I actually like and all of the mediocre ones I am forcing myself to get through.
Not like the movie at all - in a good way. The movie seems to bear little actual resemblance to the book.
Narrator was perfect.

It's Heinlein. 'Nough Said.
One of Heinlein's best. This version has a much more fitting narrator. I have both. This is Heinlein's one foray in to classic Military Science Fiction. Unlike so many other authors he gave us his best in one book and left it at that. Unfortunate that Hollywood didn't take that hint. The Sequels to the Starship Troopers Movie do not help the brand.

Definitely worth the wait!
I thought we would never get this version with R.C. Bray as narrator but I was surprised to see it was finally available. While there is not much in way of combat scenes, this book does a great job of explaining why these troopers fight and gives a little insight into the aliens they fight as well. First time listening to this book and I really liked it!

On The Bounce!
The ultimate audiobook combines excellent writing with an accomplished narrator. RC Bray could read the back of a ketchup bottle and make it interesting. Starship Troopers was already my favorite RAH book, but combined with Bray it’s simply fantastic. The wait was worth it.

Second Purchase Purely bc RC Bray - did not disappoint
If you are on the fence on this one because you own the original audible I implore you to just launch that drop pod (spend that credit!). RC Bray takes one of Sci Fi’s great works and turns it into a masterpiece.
