Strange days....
Winter gripped the city. Terror gripped it, too. They found four corpses in four days, each more hideous than the last.

Strange nights....
At first the cops thought they were dealing with a psychopath. But soon they heard eerie sounds in the ventilation system - and saw unearthly silver eyes in the snow-slashed night.

Final hours....
In a city paralyzed by a blizzard, something watches, something stalks.

Years ago a co-worker/friend recommended Dean Koontz. I resisted reading him for a long time. When it got to a point where I was reluctant to mention what I was currently reading at work I listened to an audio book of his. I didn't want to like it, but I did. In fact I picked up a bunch more as time went by. His books draw you in, and usually have unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes pleasingly familiar twists and turns. He leaves you wanting more, but feeling content at the same time. Like a good no frills meal - a Sunday roast - occasionally with the unexpected side or dessert. Wanting something that wasn't too serious or too real the other day I listened to Darkfall. It isn't the best book by Dean Koontz that I have listened to, but it is consistently enjoyable. The narrator is very good. The story a bit predictable in a comforting way.

Enjoyed it.

Would you listen to Darkfall again? Why?

Don't think I'd listen again because I know the ending.

What did you like best about this story?

It was believable in a weird sort of way. I always love listening to Christopher Lane's narration.

What does Christopher Lane bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Christopher Lane has such a huge range of voicing characters that it is hard to believe it is only him. I choose his narration first and then the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are always bits of humor at the darkest places in most Koontz books which is great.

Great to read (listen to ) Koontz Again!

Awesome book like ALL of Dean Koontz's books. I've been a fan all my life and apparently missed this one early on. Koontz's more recent books are just as great. Please keep them coming.

Awesome

Koontz has done it again. What a great story that kept me returning to it whenever I had a chance. Christopher Lane does an excellent job as well. Thank you for a quality book!

An excellent story of love and evil

Definitely not the best Koontz book I've read. I dont know how it has such high ratings. seemed very bland except the last couple of chapters.

Eh, it was ok

I'm not into these kind of thrillers, however this book is fun, scary and I'm 65 years old. I sleep with a light on. Standing ovation

Terrific
