Always a good tale

Fath Hunter has struck gold with this series. While I think that have most of the series I can be assured that each new title will have new twists to keep me interested.
Kristine Hvam is the perfect narrator for this series. I really enjoy the voices she has created for her characters, especially the beast.

Definitely Read This in the Right Order

This is called a "Novella" but it is still a part of the sequential story. Make sure to read it in between the two longer novels it falls between. I'm on my second time through all the Jane Yellowrock stories and I love it even more than my first time through. If Vamps, Witches, Weres, and other musical creatures are your thing, along with a strong female lead, you will be thrilled with this series. Simply fantastic!!

Good. but repeats everything in another story

There's an earlier short story/novella that covers all of this.
It's good, but doesn't add much of anything to the on-going story.

Good action filled story Best read before book #10

This is an action oriented story. Mostly Jane centered, so very little of Beast is part of the story. Too bad - I like Beast!

Not too deep a story this time. Just a good four hour time killer novella, set between Dark Heir (#9) and Shadow Rites (#10).

Khristine Hvam - great as always.

More Vamp plans & secrets

Really like the novella but it on a ‘cliffhanger’ of sorts. I suspect it leads right into Book 10 in the series. Also liked that we get to revisit some characters from another novella too.
The narrator does a good job on voices & the various accents. I have enjoyed listening to her voice throughout the entire series a lot. She speaks clearly & has distinctive voices for each of the characters; enough to be recognized as a different character that is. It helps me to picture what the character may look like.
While this was a longer novella than the others in the series, it goes by pretty quickly.
So now I’m off to book 10 & to find out what else Jane has gotten mixed up in. With Vamps, it can be anything, & usually involves a lot of bloody messes for Jane to deal with (in more ways than one)! Lol!

Prequel to Book 10!!

After beginning Book 10, which is GREAT, I noticed some gaps in the story. Important things like Jane having a vampire Primo, Ed Hartly, were mentioned without an explanation so I went looking for a novella. This short story tells of how the M.O.C. got Jane back to work for him a week after she handled the S.O.D. situation in book 9. This is a good story with lots of action that lines up Book 10 well!! I recommend it for all Jane's fans!!

Very Aptly Titled

As always, Faith Hunter gives us a very interesting story in the Yellowrock 'verse. I personally like revisiting these characters. They're fun. Christine Hvam once again shows us her extremely broad talents as a narrator with all of the back woods Cajun characters. My only complaint is that the connection to the Mercy Blades seemed a little forced, as hough Hunter were trying to wrap things up quickly.
