About this listen

"My name is Black. Quentin Black."

Gifted with an uncanny sense about people, psychologist Miri Fox works as an on-and-off profiler for the police. So when they think they've finally nailed the "Wedding Killer", she agrees to check him out, using her gift to discover the truth.

But the suspect, Quentin Black, isn't anything like Miri expects. He claims to be hunting the killer, too, and the longer Miri talks to him, the more determined she becomes to uncover his secrets.

When he confronts her about the nature of her peculiar "insight", Miri gets pulled into Black's bizarre world and embroiled in a game of cat and mouse with a deadly killer - who might just be Black himself.

Worse, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to Black, a complication she doesn't need with a best friend who's a homicide cop and her boyfriend in intelligence.

Can Miriam see a way out, or is her future covered in Black?

I just listened to this book for the second time, after having read it as well. there are not many books/audio that I can say that about. Just very well done all around, and part of an ever growing series. Which I love!

Can't..... stop..... listening

This really sold it, because it’s flirting on the edge of is he actually the serial killer or not? And I wasnt expecting the paranormal/psychic twist on this. I did enjoy this one a lot but the “I’ll explain later” that never came was frustrating.

It wasn’t bad!

Unusual characters who attempt to stop a serial killer. Not your usual who dunnit. It's possible some characters come from a different realm.

Pretty intense

Great story, it kept me guessing. Sometimes the heroine is really denise. Some of the scene don't make sense. But over all a good entertaining book.

Story line with keep you entertained - story ends with unanswered questions. Narration by Ms. Rosenberg is excellent.

Good story

I really enjoyed the story but can I just say that the heroine of this story was kind of an insensitive witch. She has a man begging for her, she can literally feel his pain and longing and she callously walks out on him only to call hime for help an hour later. And can I just say that I am left wanting after this story. They didn’t even actually sleep together the whole book, or should I say they don’t have sex. THE WHOLE BOOK!!! I sometimes enjoy a slow burn but the whole book being a slow burn sucks. For this woman to be able to read minds and feel people’s emotions, not to mention the fact that she is a psychologist, she has the emotional intelligence of a skittle. I did enjoy the plot and I wish I had gotten to learn more about her kind and her dimension

Huge shift on personalities from book 1 to book 2. I could not take the constant hate and attitude of Miriam toward Black. She's hired by him but yet hates him. She's called to a location to use her skills and she is questioning her employer as to why she's there. She's supposedly a psychologist but has zero self awareness. She is venomous and it's constant. At one point she tells him why she's mad, I thought, finally, get on with the story. Nope she keeps going. She's not professional at all, more like a spoiled teenager. I returned the book. Absolutely hated both lead characters that I enjoyed in book 1.

Made it to Chapter 5, Returned the book.
