Second chances

There’s just something about duet narration. <heavy sigh> Jacob Morgan and Angelina Rocca’s incredible voices transported me into an all consuming emotional journey riddled with heart wrenching angst. The singing was unique and unexpected bonus that brought an extra layer to Brit Benson’s powerful story. It’s one thing to read a book and another to listen to one. I’m so glad that I chose to listen to this one. Their history is scarred and jaded. Their connection is undeniable and a reminder that timing is everything. This is not a fairy tale love story filled with sunshine and rainbows. It’s raw and real. It’s heartache and unrelenting deep emotional pain. A true marathon of emotions. This is a rabbit hole I would fall down again and again.

Wow! The things I didn't see coming! I loved this book! Right from the jump. It drew me in and had me hooked. An EPIC love story, in my humble opinion. Narration was chefs kiss perfection - Rocca/Webber. ABSOLUTELY worth the purchase and/or credit. I had to write my review as soon as I finished as I forget the book pretty soon after I read/listen 🤷‍♀️. However, that bodes well for me because I can listen over and over again (and, I will!). Thank you for the beautiful story Ms Benson.

Real life situations

What a great read!! Love how she incorporated real life situations in Her books. Absolutely loved the Narrators!!! Jacob Morgan is one of my favorite narrators and Angelina Rocca wow, she was fantastic!!

The Narrators together are perfection!

I listen to books on a daily basis and I loved this story, characters and writing style. I am a fan of Jacob Morgan and Zachary Webber . Angelina Rocca and Jacob Morgan together are the best I have ever heard!

Daddy Levi Forever!

I knew once Brit told me she was writing this book that was going to take place over years of the couple's life that I was going to be obsessed. Of course she couldn’t just make it a simple story though, she tossed in her Brit magic and some twists and turns and created this masterpiece that made me unable to put it down until I was done.

Levi & Sav have been friends since Sav pushed Levi off the swing in second grade. They come from what appears to be two different worlds but they both have families that are really not good for them. They find comfort in each other until Savannah is forced to leave.

Reunited years later, Sav and Levi are given a chance to catch up and reunite in ways they weren’t able to before. I really enjoyed getting to know this side of Savannah. She was much stronger on her own. She found herself a family through her friends and now band mates. Levi on the other hand is still his quiet self. Now in college, he is still very much the studious man who doesn’t want to cause any problems until they fall in his lap and he has no choice. Without giving away what happens, this part of the story is a bit heartbreaking and I was quite angry at everyone. I was mad at Brit for putting me through the pain and at Sav and Levi for being too stubborn!

We jump further into the future where things have changed significantly. Sav’s band has become extremely successful, but with their success has also come with drug problems and jealousy and other issues that have plagued their band. Savannah wants to start over and is now starring in a movie. Coincidentally, this is where she is reunited with Levi. This is where we get to meet Daddy Levi. And let me tell you, I loved nerdy sweet Levi, but Daddy Levi who is so caring towards his daughter but a filthy talker in bed is my absolute favorite! There are surprises that will blow your mind. There are scenes that are so filthy you are gonna need to shower after. Brit always delivers an intricate story in which every piece of the story is significant, and characters who have so much growth. While my heart almost didn’t survive the story, I am absolutely in love with this story, the characters and their love. And I look forward to seeing what Brit can do with the other bandmates!

Brit has this insane ability where she picks the most perfect narrators. And even more so, she picks female narrators who absolutely SLAY. I am used to everyone talking about the male narrators, and yes we all know how amazing Jacob Morgan is, seriously just announcing him I was like “SAY LESS!”. But Angelina… oh my goodness. I can’t even describe the emotions she brought to the book. This might seem like a crazy thing to mention, but she has this perfect way of pausing,and breathing during her performances that just take it to the next level. I was brought to tears many times. There were a few parts of the story I was looking forward to hearing in audio and Angelina & Jacob did not disappoint!

First book of 2024 and it didn’t disappoint. Best story and the performers were great. I laughed and cried. And the spice was spicy 🌶️🌶️ 🌶️. Highly recommend.

What a story

The performances and the dual narration were top notch. But the story, my goodness, it was captivating from the first page to the last. The spice was so good and well written, but not the main part of the story - there was actual substance with twists and turns, heartbreak and rebuilding. This is one I will listen too again and again. Loved it.

Oh my, WOW! Just WOW! More like this, please!!!

Oh my gosh, thank you, Brit Benson! This is by far one of—if not the best romance I’ve ever read/listened to! It has everything, all the emotion, all the angst, all the mystery, all the feels! And it’s so, so hot! Did I mention that it’s HOT?! I love that it’s over 14 hours long, yet there was never a lagging moment in the story. Not once did it feel like that author was just stalling for the sake of stalling. The story flowed so well. I can’t say how much I appreciate the quality of writing. There’s no nonsense—a jaded, but strongly broken female character, and a hot but sweet, also strong male lead without all the nonsense authors usually use to try to write strong characters. There are no lengthy internal monologues. The author doesn’t explain the character growth and development, she illustrates is so that it unfolds as the story smoothly moves along. We actually suffer with them, smile with them, and grow to love them. We experience this story, rather than read/listen to them. I love how realistic the story is and how there are no cheesy or cringey sentiments or cliches. This is absolutely my new favorite author! I can’t rave enough about the dual narration. Jacob Morgan aka Zachary Webber is my all-time favorite male narrator. He was so perfect for this role. And Angelina Rocha was also phenomenal! Just Wow! I definitely have a book hangover now. 10/5 stars!

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL

I am not an audio book girl! most narrators give me the ick and it just ruins the book for me! I randomly found this book after a couple hours searching for a book to listen to on my road trip! I wasn't a fan of audio books before and this one was so incredible I'm not sure I'll like another one! the duet narration was so good! you definitely felt the emotions more! the chemistry between the narrators was so great! and they did a fantastic job voicing all the characters with distinct voices!! the story was so good! it has me feeling all the emotions!! just such an incredible listen!!
