Mesmerizing Duet Narration

Give me all those angsty Romeo and Juliet vibes! Just like Heaven by Trilina Pucci was a dark forbidden romance that left my heart racing and desperate for more of Sutton and Calder’s fated love story. This is book one in Pucci’s The Star-Crossed Series, and it’s safe to say it left me completely gutted.

Angelina Rocca and Connor Crais perform this book in duet-style narration and woah did these two bring all the steamy, undeniable chemistry between Sutton and Calder. Angelina’s soft, angelic voice captured Sutton’s innocence and passion as she gave into her desires for Calder and stood up to her parents. Connor went for a growly depth in this one harnessing all of Calder’s possessive, dominant, and dedicated demeanor. (Hello, touch her and die moments!) Both added a desperation in their performances towards the end that will leave listeners begging for more.

Overall, I enjoyed this book! If you are a fan of a forbidden new adult romance with a passionate heroine, a bad boy hero, enemy families, slow burn steamy lessons, fortune teller fates, love declarations, and a cliffhanger ending that will leave you needing more, then you will love the start of Sutton and Calder’s love story.

Holy crap, this book!!!!!

I swear to God, Trilina Pucci blows me away with every book she writes!

This is a modern day Romeo and Juliet retelling and I'm obsessed! Sutton and Calder are both stuck in lives where they are pawns and have no choice in, and find happiness and love with each other.

The connection between these 2 is just everything. Calder is a sexy bad boy and Sutton is a good girl ( kinda 😂) and when they get together it is EXPLOSIVE!!!

That cliffhanger ripped me wide open yet again, even though i knew what was coming since i arc read this duet! i can't wait to listen to book 2! Just one question Trilina, where can i get my own Calder 😂😂😂

Connor and Angelina are a freaking MASTERPIECE narrating these characters. You feel the emotions in their voices and Angelina brought out Suttons sass so well! I cant put into words what hearing Connor saying these dirty lines i love so much did to me 🤣 just all around PERFECT!

This is definitely a must listen and you NEED to grab these audiobooks right now!!!!

An Enjoyable Spin

I was so excited for this one to hit audio because hello!….Connor Crais!….but I was not anticipating they would be in high school! Nothing about the cover or description of this book screamed new adult/college-aged romance to me. 🤦🏻‍♀️
For that reason alone I didn’t connect with this story as much as I wanted to. The teenage angst just didn’t pull me in and I felt as though it really hindered the storyline. I think there could have been much more depth to these characters had they been older, but that’s just my opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️.
That being said, it was still an enjoyable spin on Romeo and Juliet. The narrators were perfection - as these two always are - and because of them and the story being intriguing enough to wonder what happens to these characters, I will listen to the second book.

Best retelling of Romeo & Juliet but just mafia style!

I had to get it on audio. It was a must, no, a NEED. I read this duet when it first came out and loved it. And here we are today, I still love it just as much as I do when it first read it. Calder, that man… I love him so much! 😭 “If we only had tonight, would it all be worth it?” And Sutton, she’s so fierce. I love a strong FMC. GUYS!!!! Please read the book or audio. It’s worth every penny spent!
