About this listen

The Dungeon falls silent. The trumpets of war sound nearer. The walls of our reality tremble.

Matt and many of his people are alive, and they've found a new ally, more or less, but the damage done to the dungeon and its future are beyond measure.

Time and great effort are needed to repair the cracks, to seal the warping and to rebuild, but the world after the fall isn't somewhere anyone can afford to wait around in. Matt and his people must push on, they must grow, they have to rise up if they are to have any chance of surviving, after all; The Nexus Gates are opening, and those that were hoped to be allies, or even one day friends, are not to be trusted . . .

Visitors will be coming soon, and who knows if a hand offered in friendship, hides a dagger . . . or a claw.

was a fun listen

I really enjoyed this one as it dealt with more behind the scenes and core mechanics of the dungeon, answering a lot of questions I've had in previous books.

Amazing projecting of character voices and storylines

I Can’t wait for Neal to narrate more for this library of Age Books by Jerez!

Filler book

Lots of filler in this book. Any portion of this book could have been part of another that actually progressed the story. Literally two important things happen, one is glossed over and forgotten right after it happens and the other is the cliff hanger at the end. Hope next book is better.

Cliffhanger!

You were warned. So why does this supposedly fairly smart MC do so much stupid stuff? Just listen and yall can make up your own mind.

Jez and Neil combo

The writing of Jez is amazing as always but Niel does a fantastic job bringing it to life.

A slow descent into smarmy sex fluff

This started off as one of my top ever LiTRPG series, but the pace and content has changed so much.....

The cheesey sex talk and boys will be boys pervy crap has dramatically increased each book, and it's really painful.....

I think the first book had a great amount, enough that it was entertaining, even funny sometimes. Now it's so frequent and predictable that it's just frustrating and really 'immersion breaking'. It's seriously detracting from the whole experience.....

Finally, I fully understand that the story has changed from 'running for our lives and every encounter is a fight to survive' to 'base building and community construction' but the meetings are getting a bit too much. Matt needs to stick to what he's planned/promised and let the girls take over the dungeon. Which means we need to hear less about their process/justification and rather hear more succinct updates/reports.......

We're working our way from one man's survival of the apocalypse to full blown intergalactic planetary war of species survival. Let's make sure we don't lose momentum before the big baddie even arrives!

......I very rarely write reviews, but I love this series and because I know I'm going to continue reading it, I'd like to try contribute towards each instalment being an improvement, rather than a descent into smarmy sex fluff.
