About this listen

Now it comes down to it. I am coming to my final years, perhaps even my final days. Within these pages is the the last record I have the mental strength to add my reflections to. The ninth edition of the eighth publication of a study that spanned decades and reshaped the galaxy as I, and we, all knew it. I wish I could say I had all the answers, but I didn't then and I don't now. Perhaps you can succeed where I failed, and find them. If nothing else, these are a glimpse, one final glimpse, into lives well lived, and I hope you cherish them as I have, whether you have the lifespan of a human, or a dlamisa, or something else.

My humans grow, they learn, they change, they live, and because of how they do so, nothing will ever be the same, either on, or off world.

What a great series!

Usually sci fi books are full of fighting and wars .There're not many about peoples lives. This are the stories I like best .So this is my kind of book. A great book the end of a great series. I enjoy all 8 of them.

A Great Story

I listened to the entire series and I enjoyed it. I came across the story on an HFY video on YouTube and found the books here. The narration got better over time. This last book was the best. This does not replace a great human narrator but it was sufficient and I appreciate that the books were narrated so quickly. I can remember having Alexa read my Kindle books to me and that was pretty bad. This was so much better. Overall the story was a great concept and truly inciteful. There were many things to dissect from human behavior to philosophy to morality. It was a good set of books to step out of ourselves and reflect on where we are and have hope for a future of what we could be. The concept of hope is even given much consideration in the books. It's a slice of life with many things to ponder and some good sci-fi topics. Give it a listen and enjoy.

It was a journey

Well... I have not, and don't know if I will, rated the others in the series as I listened to the whole series back to back in less then a week. the story wasn't perfect because if it was it would have been worse for it. This is by far one of my favorite series I have ever listened too, and I am so glad I listened to the first chapter on Youtube, and that lead me to find i, and the rest of the series,t here. My one and only complaint is that it ended, but it was the best ending in my opinion. And it makes me hope, likely after my lifetime, that something similar happens in the future. (Hopefully without World War 3)
