Captivating Romance with Rich Historical and Cultural Context

I loved this series and the third book did not disappoint. The romance story line had all the feels and did a great job executing the usual historical romance tropes. But this book has so much more. The FMC was strong,
smart and purpose driven. It is inspiring and fascinating to imagine what it must have been like to be an educated woman who defied societal norms at that time, much less a woman of color. I loved the historical context, the South American and Caribbean cultural references, and situating successful people of color and gay characters in this historical period. All while giving us the swoons and tropes we want if we like historical romance.

Just the book we need to inspire hope

Loved every second. My favorite book out of the series. Aurora's upbringing was what made her the fierce Leona who could handle everything she was thrown and still keep her man. Apollo is my favorite duke I have ever had the chance reading. His love and giving qualities made him perfect for Aurora.

I love this series so much

When a book makes me go do research because I get so wrapped in a story; It goes beyond just fiction and gives so much more to the reader. Thank you for the history lessons and the heartfelt story.

Wonderful conclusion to these series

I have loved this series so much and I am a huge fan of Adrianna Herrera’s work. It’s refreshing seeing people of color in period romances where they aren’t servants or slaves. The narrator does a good job but her male voice is just okay. With that being said I still loved the story and this sweet and spicy conclusion to the Las Leonas series.

Important Historic Romance

A nice historic context to a love history. Over dramatic in the extreme in many of the love scene.

Did Not Finish

I appreciate the historical details and the perspective of people of color during this era. Unfortunately, the love scenes were bizarre and the narrator used a breathy voice that sounded extremely 90’s phone sex operator wannabe in tone. The controlling aspects of the MMC were very unappealing. I don’t get the hype behind this book. Would not recommend
