Indo is a headstrong romantic who never really overcame his separation from his childhood sweetheart, Mahi. When he gets involved with Jasleen, life takes an unexpected turn, one that he doesn't see coming.

Jasleen is the free-spirited daughter of a wealthy, yet domineering family. Running from an abusive boyfriend, she finds support and understanding in her relationship with Indo. As their relationship blossoms, however, an unexpected turn of events brings chaos into their lives, intertwining Indo's past with his present.

As the situation unfolds, internal and external struggles challenge the couple at every turn. Jasleen needs to stand up for herself against her family for what is right, while Indo finds himself in a situation where he can finally bring meaning to his life.

A great read for any first-generation American.

This book is more than a Punjabi-American story. Granted the main characters are Punjabi, but it digs deeper than that. It covers an important lesson of expressing your true feelings to the ones you care about and the great lengths one would go through to deliver those feelings even if it might be “taboo”.

Definitely worth a LISTEN!

IK has a done an amazing job of portraying a beautiful story, you will definitely be hooked to it!

It portrays the harsh reality of our society that treats us so differently based on our the gender. After listening to this, you will definitely be able to not only relate to it yourself one way or other, but come to realize that it is sad in reality today's time how a basic human right, the right to make an decision on your own for personal happiness doesn't exist. And in our society, doing anything not being a traditional norm is considered a norm rather than accepting something for it is.

Please definitely listen to this, its a great listen!
