Es ist so weit: Die Poldi heiratet Montana. So jedenfalls der Plan. Die Hochzeitsvorbereitungen laufen auf vollen Touren, bei manchen liegen die Nerven bereits blank. Aber - man kennt das - Sizilien ist kompliziert, immer kommt was dazwischen. Ein unbeliebter Unternehmer verschwindet. Fiel er etwa in die Hände der Mafia? Und auf der Isola Bella vor Taormina wird die Leiche einer jungen Frau angespült. Die schöne Slowakin ist an einer Überdosis Ketamin gestorben. War es Selbstmord? Ein Unfall? Für die Poldi steht bereits fest: Mord.

Bei der Poldi bleibt's weiterhin turbulent. Es kreuzen wieder mal viel zu viele Männer ihren Weg, die ihr das Leben schwermachen. Und dann ist auch noch einer verschwunden: Thomas, der vor zwei Wochen mit einem Koffer äußerst wertvollen Inhalts von Tansania nach Europa aufgebrochen ist. Dass er diesen Koffer einem afrikanischen Boss gestohlen hat, macht die Sache nicht unbedingt besser. Als Poldi Thomas schließlich aufspürt, ist der Afrikaner leider bereits mausetot und auch nicht mehr ganz vollständig.

Peter, paralysed by a nerve poison given him by Franz Laurenz hears that the occult library under the Pantheon contains an ancient encrypted book of Evil.
