Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost's daughter, Santa Claus' niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now...private investigator. Sort of.

Loved it!

I loved this short story. I love Birdie in the other books as well, but they’re always too short for me (Birdie’s parts I mean) I liked that this story had more of her in it. I especially liked that Spider spoke to her. Now Jane will have someone that she can talk to about Spider and they not think that she is crazy. The only disappointing thing about this book is...is that it was too short. I would have loved to hear another 3 hours. Birdie is a fantastic character that makes you wish that Nocturne Falls was real so you could visit and stop in for a chat with Birdie while eating cobbler ;-D

Absolutely adorable

When I saw the birdie short I couldn't help it I had to download it right away. Absolutely a fun story and to see her and cole's dad become such a sweet trial couple... well that is perfect. Birdie is absolutely on of my favorite characters in the Nocturne Falls bookverse.

Spider is the best

I think this cat is one of my favorite parts of the whole series. Its great to have Spider and Birdie get the spotlight.

Birde sat a Spider

while it helps to know the series this can be a stand alone short story.
Birdie is main focus and you get to find out more of life story and a bit more of her family's with Painters chuckles thrown in. Remember as Birdie tells us when Hank is in a mood, I changed that boys diapers. It is also very nice for those of us in less than spring chicken years as this is an older couple figuring out how to move forward in life after being Widowed. Jack get it he is in the same position.
Another big chuckle is Jane does not tell Birdie that Spider can talk ! Which you can imagine causes some intresting things.
So how would you handle a pet sitting job were the pet suddenly talks ??
All in All a wonderful read that makes you wish that Nocturne Falls was once again a real place. Now I just have to stop thinking about food ...lol

Not a mystery more in line with the Nocturne Falls romances but super cute and fun.
