Rocky Mountain Showdown
Big Max Higgins ran the outlaw town of Hell's Creek up in the north Montana Rockies...and he decided to include the nearby town of Barlow in his cutthroat operation. What he didn't know was that Smoke Jensen was there with his wife, visiting relatives.

By far the best in series.
Prepare for a much harder Smoke Jensen. He was a very "no bullshit" man in this book. My absolute favorite so far.

It seemed a bit long, but it was a war
The plot was a pretty good one and the narration was very good, but it just felt like it dragged at times. Since it was about a war, I guess that it makes sense that it was long. So many battles that made so little sense and left so many dead. The insanity angle was very interesting since it was used as a part of the plot and wasn’t just implied. There’s a crazy gene pool still alive at the end of this story that gives one the chills. If your favorite part of westerns is the gunfights this is just what you are looking for and you won’t be sorry.

Smoke vs. evil.
Good vs. evil with Smoke Jensen. J. Rodney Turner's voice will be Smoke's in every book I read. I love it that Sally understands her man and is tough in her own way. The old west before lawyers.
