Good story
Fine reading. Story moved along at a good pace. Good character development, which was a pleasant surprise. The reader took pains to convey the story as the writer intended.

hard ass holt....not charming at all
find this a little stale...too much conspiracy too little give and take. maybe I am just used to exceptional works by these authors but this fell short for me. give me Preacher, Luke, smoke and perley. macallister of course.

Sheriff Holt and justice

The suspense of the story line about where the money actually was hidden
loved the fact that the black lady cook was a stand up, speak up type of person and the hidden fact of the two half brothers answering the question of why one faction was never robbed or likewise molested

Characters are over the top senselessly mean or underdeveloped so as to mean nothing to the plot. Disappointing for a Johnstone story. Felt like a hurry up creation riding on authors reputation for $ .
