This book has a single purpose - to inspire you to run!
Through sharing a detailed account of my first three years of pursuing running from the middle to back of the pack, it will hopefully show you you are capable of much more than you may think. After my dad's major health scare, it was time for me to change everything. Little did I know how much I would learn after taking on some physical exercise.
A radical diet change allowed me to lose a forth of my body weight and it gave me boundless energy to get outside and explore.
It’s not clear to me why I chose running ultra marathons of all forms of exercise, since I was unable to run beyond one mile just a few years prior.
But since that fateful day, I’ve never looked back.
I was finding that sometimes the experiences of training for ultra could be just as rich and fulfilling as the ultra event itself.

Very insightful and inspirational
I started running only 8 months ago. Running has become part of me. I long to learn what people go through at distances farther than what I can currently run (which isn't very far yet). Rob (I feel like friends now after being inside his brain for this whole book) has given me a glimpse into this world that is still new to me. He has given me something to ponder when I am out running. We each have our own running barriers to break through. Everyone has thier own accomplishments to achieve. I have already found myself saying "what would Rob do? ".

The non- elite ultra running book
Rob does a great job telling the story of his 3 years of going from couch to ultra runner. Encouraging and easy to listen to. Rob keeps your attention and makes you believe you can do it too.

MUST READ FOR EVERYONE
loved this book so much, I listened to it while running. I enjoyed it so much I rationed the book like survivor would with water. I only listen to about 30 minuteson a run and then I'd switch to music, so I could listen again the next day. I never wanted it to end.
