Really Great!

I am really excited about this series. The audio is really good, the story is compelling and characters awesome. I can not wait for the next book.

Painful

This was so dam painful…cringe writing. The MC is a little pansy about EVERYTHING. He wines about everything and with little to no protest, he allows his sister to send him off to pretty much die in a war with a guy she barely met… on top of that, the description of the book has next to nothing to do with the actual plot.

this was a hard start

not sure what the author is trying for here but it didn't work. the start is to much problem for how much you get to know the MC

Hero is a weakling

If you like a story where the hero is a mouthy, self centered, money grubbing, kinda stupid, highly irritating, and weak hero that needs to be saved by both opponents and allies on all his encounters. this is the book for you. I don’t find it interesting following a hero with no desire to get more powerful, improve his magic. All he is Mr. Crab in a human body… buy with risk!

Not Sure

Didn't care for the MC, but liked the story as a whole. I'll wait till next book to see if he grows on me.

White God? Really?

White God? Seriously? White God? Half the time I listened to this, mentioning the “white god” makes me think they’re racist. & I’m not even an sjw & this made me cringe. The MC is a moron, I mean I love listening to his books but this one is just meh. I really tried to like it but the MC is just seriously stupid. & not likable stupid, but the kind of stupid that you wish he’d die already.

the half wit male slut with thoughts of grandeur.

it's a good story but the main character kind of rubs me the wrong way by basic walking ass backwards into hot poker of a situation only to stick his dick in the proverbial light socket and it gets annoying quickly but I like the world ,i like the idea of wizards with "Chuckers" and "Boomers", and like the story of the semi powerful going toe to toe with the ultra powerful with just their will and wit soooo I'll get over my problems

well written beginning

I tend to take it easy on the first book of any new series as they can be rather shaky to begin with. I actually read this book first when it first came out. this is not the first series that I've read by this author and so I was very interested in what new book he was writing. overall the story was interesting and similar to what I've come to expect from this author. I did remember not liking the ending. with that said I completely forgot that it was my intention to continue series but only as an ebook. when this release I saw the narrators who had signed on to perform the story and immediately picked up the ebook. I enjoyed the performance from both of them and I think they did a fantastic job. in my experience sometimes narrators get assigned to work where there's dissidence for lack of a better description between how the character is written and the person assigned to the performance. not everybody's got a voice like James Earl Jones. in this case I think the gentleman narrators voice really matches up well with the idea of something of a petulant Noble with a chip on his shoulder. the second book is out now which is one of the reasons why I picked this up now. I cracked the speed up to 2x so that I could Blaze through the story refreshing what had taken place before I started book 2.

just wow

I liked this book so much I also got in on audible and let me tell you. the narrators do this book justice. Alexa Roosevelt does An amazing job voicing the few female cast that appear while Jack Douglas keeps all the voice simple and different at the same time

Somethings should never be seen…

Let’s just say I had renewed PTSD from a similar childhood experience. Not a huge fan of the MC at first but by the end you are starting to root for the guy. An interesting alternative historical timeline with traditional, though it felt less traditional by today’s standards on the Fae. Magic system is terrifying, made even more so by the strange handicap built in by the author.
