One day I was enjoying my early retirement out in the countryside, taking comfort in the simplicity of my off grid lifestyle. Hunting and gardening provided the bulk of my own food, and I slept and did my work from inside my converted shipping container mini-home. It could get a bit lonely at times—but it gave me the space I needed to get away from the city...and my past.

But when a trio of cute goblins emerged from a silver portal that appeared out of nowhere on my property...things got a bit more complicated all of a sudden. Also, I soon discovered they bite and scratch: mostly each other, but sometimes me.

Still, I made a commitment to care for them. I also discovered that I can travel freely back to their world and slay monsters to gain strength and enhance each of the women I'm now responsible for in unusual ways. It's all pretty exciting—but what is my childhood friend Susie going to say when she finds out about this strange arrangement? Knowing her, probably something weird.

OMG it's funny as he'll

some heavy themes but still funny. it's has his signature comedy and smut that brings a year to the eye.

Great Read

Story was really good had a interesting build up that grabbed my attention kept me wondering about the past events. Narration was top notch work each character had there own unique personality. 10/10 Highly recommend and 10/10 For the narrator’s as well they did an amazing job. Here’s hoping for a book two.

Another great book by Virgil Knightley. You will not be disappointed. Also the dual narration really brings the story to life.

Truly a raunchy comedy

This is one has amazing delivery and great writing I’m gonna recommend this one to a few people. It falls in line with old school comedies like American pie, road trip and scary movie

Historically inaccurate!

First off it is historically inaccurate! The author needs to do better fact checking. he said a US penny from 1981 was made of copper and zinc. US pennies didn't start being made from copper coated zinc until 1982.
Second, for a fantasy harem book, it takes it's sweet time getting to any actual sex, and most of the early on mentions of sex are just saying 2 people used to do it. Its like 2\3 into the book before anyone even has sex and that's with the one human female, and almost to the end before the guy actually fucks one of the goblin girls.
Third, the one and only main bad guy, isn't even really all that bad, and the MC just suddenly kills the guy over a misunderstanding. literally One-Punch Man style expodes the dudes head in a single blow. it's almost like the book was a sex only fantasy book and then someone rewrote it to attempt to have a bad guy but couldn't come up with a good ending so they just had the MC kill him off suddenly and for seaming no reason.

I would lovento find a sequel to this book. I want to know what the goblin girls and Susie do when they see the hobgoblin girl on top of Dariel

Another fun little slice of life story

Cute and crazy women is the bread and butter of Virgil Knightley and this book is no exception. It's unclear if this is one and done or it's going to be a series. Perhaps it depends on sales figures but it's written with room for more while feeling self-contained enough to not leaving readers upset if this is it.

I felt that the antagonist and his motivations were a bit contrived and ridiculous but maybe that's intentional. I also felt that there were some glaring problems with how the antagonist was resolved so to speak. Arguably it doesn't matter as much as the romance and comedy is the center stage for this book, not the plot.

The characters are fun, the characters are crazy and the MC has a surprisingly dark backstory for a book like this. A bit bold but I don't mind and it works to setup a plausible reason for him to live out in the woods.

The narrators did a good job. Occasionally it could be difficult to understand the goblins as they don't have regular speech patterns which would be easier to understand in text so I don't think I can fault Mandy for that.

the fact that there was very relatable reactions, smart reactions.

I loved the adventure/leveling up aspect, it was done in a game like concept but weirdly realistic, I could picture a leveling system feeling and looking like that in a dream. I do hope there's more books ahead, I would love to see the evolution of this family and what new powers and upgrades could be had. by the way to the writer, the fun scenes? top notch, keep that up too.

love the spin

I really enjoyed this. funny and dark. a good mix. Bringing the creatures to our world is the spin I enjoy you get it the other way some many times turning it around makes it more interesting.

Good first book

I liked the story. The incident with boulder makes zero sense. The amount of inconsistencies in the character interactions were rushed and not realistic. But I am looking forward to at the overall and liked the narrators and story.
