The main character is terminally clueless and though there are some good twists her extreme stupidity isn't believable.

Love the book
This book was very good and kept my interest but at times I was like, “Why is the wife so clueless”! And the husband was passing me off at one point but nevertheless the less it kept me engaged and on the edge. I have read 3 books with this one and will continue to read from this author more.

Not the best from this author
Have enjoyed 3 previous books from this author but this is probably worth a pass. Protagonist a bit too daft, and parts of the story too far-fetched. It’s fun but I found myself rolling my eyes many times as the plot unfolded.

Terrible ending - dumb protagonist
Could not get past how dumb the main character is even though they portray her as smart and successful. Her utter lack of a normal response given her circumstances is almost infuriating. At one point (after finding evidence and being held against her will) she says “I’m beginning to think she is evil…” like DUH?! Really dumb and nonsensical final chapter

I enjoyed this!
I have listened to most of Freida’s books and left this for one of the last due to not too many reviews. I found it enjoyable to listen to and clever. Not as good as the housemaid and the sequel as someone else pointed out, but not bad at all and worth a credit for me. I thought the narration was fine and it didn’t bother me that there was mild background noise on occasion.

Great Book
