Too much violence against women

I enjoyed most of the story very much, but it started with a great deal of violence that I could have done without.

I loved this atmospheric offering from one of my new favorite authors!
Mena is on the run after being imprisoned and beaten by her cruel husband. After her friends help her escape, she lands in the employ and under the protection of the Demon Highlander. Is she safe in this cold Scottish keep with monsters around every corner? Steamy, eerie, suspenseful!
As always, Derek Perkins nails this audiobook!

break out the ice because this one is a hot one! loved it. it's in the thread of the mid 90s early 2000s style of sexy, smutty, tumultuous romance. will read again and again and again

The Highlander

Loved just loved this Audible the love the secrets but,it felt like the children in the story kinda took a back seat at the end...it's like the author wanted to finish quickly and forgot about all the characters she had invented. I have listened to this series 2X now nice very nice love the blackness of the men the dark haunting in the characters. Ok now I have something to say to Audible : in the romance package you let us get into a series; book 1'2'3 to make us buy the last 2 to finish....NOT COOL. It makes me not get into some books just because that...this series is not the only one Audible has done this.

Historical fun

I love the Victorian Rebels series and David Perkins’ narration complements the stories. He does realistic female voices and is able to move seamless between varying accents.

Trigger warning

This was a well written tale but many parts were difficult to listen to. Especially the first part - the abuse that happened to both main characters was vomit inducing. It very graphically sets up what’s at stake for these two very damaged people.

There is a HEA and lots of feels along the way - but it’s not an easy road.

Great listening

The 2nd book in the series and just as good as the first. Catches your interest immediately and hold it.
