Acerca de esta escucha

From the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of 44 Chapters About 4 Men (inspiration for the hit series Sex/Life on Netflix) comes the highly anticipated sequel to her dark Irish mafia romance, Devil of Dublin.

Growing up, I spent every night tucked under my mother’s arm, dreamily listening to tales from her favorite book series—Legend Has It by Darby Donovan, a collection of spooky folklore about a town called Glenshire and the lonely, gray-eyed fairy prince who haunted the woods there. I knew they were just stories, but when my mother died and left me in the care of my cold, abusive father, that fictional fairy prince suddenly became very, very real to me. It was as if he was always there, hiding in the shadows, offering me his silent comfort. I turned him into an imaginary friend when I needed one most.

And thirteen years later, I’m doing it again.

When my coastal Irish town is bombed by the new Russian president, a Bratva leader seeking revenge on the United Irish Brotherhood, those missiles destroy everything I’ve ever known—my home, my family, and evidently my sanity—because when I pull an injured Russian Navy officer out of the sea, a man who led the charge against my town, I can’t bring myself to let him die.

Secluded together in my secret hiding spot, we’re safe from the Mafia war raging outside, but the overwhelming connection I feel to this stranger is a battle I fight every single day. I hate him with everything that I am, but when he looks at me with those smoky gray eyes, all I see is my friend. When he touches me, all I feel is desire. And when he wraps his lips around the sustenance I offer him, all I want is to feel them pressed against mine, loving me, putting me back together.

But no one can live in a fantasy world forever, and when reality finally finds us, the truth about him is worse than anything I could have imagined.

The man I rescued is no fairy prince.

He’s the goddamn Devil himself.

The best sequel

I loved BB brought this story full circle with Kellen and Darby! There are parts that are gut wrenching and parts that are hot as hell sexy! The narration team did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life.

The BEST book I have EVER read!

BB Easton really outdid herself. From the first chapter to the last I was completely taken in by the story and the characters. Not many things make me cry but this book brook me. And in a good way because of the detail and amazing character arcs that envelop and take you in. BB’s writing style is something I have never experienced before and in my lifetime I have read over a thousand of books! I too am a writer, however, I could never measure up or even compare myself to BB Easton. I also want to give a shout out to Eric Nolan. After listening to BB’s author note, she mentioned that because of your talent of voice acting, you brought the characters to life in such a way that EVERYONE wanted more! I couldn’t agree more with that statement so thank you Eric for all that you do and thank you BB for taking time out of your busy schedule to give me some writing advice and encouragement to follow my passion. Very Respectfully, JF Hilley

💚 Rival W@r
💚 Enemies to lovers
💚 Ancient folklore
💚 Romeo & Juliet adjacent
💚 Irish setting

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (five stars isn’t enough)
Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5
Narration: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Life altering effect: 100000%

You must read The Devil of Dublin first!

I’ve read a lot of books in my lifetime. Mafia books, books with folklore, books about war torn places, books about love and loss and sacrifice. But I’ve never read a book like this. I can’t adequately express how much this book moved me. How all consuming, in the best of ways, this book is. I’ve loved a lot of books, I’ve had favorite books. But I think this one, The Devil Himself, has topped them all. This story is profound and prophetic in so many ways. BB Easton writes in such an expressive way, that had me on the edge, feeling like I was there in Ireland, needing to know what happened next. I hope everyone reads it. It is one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Straight out of the gate in chapter one, Easton gives us an eloquent summarization of the main points of The Devil of Dublin, as well as introducing us to some intense suspense. It already had me tearing up at the intensity of emotions over what was happening. I knew from that point she was going to tear me apart and hopefully put me back together by the end of the book.

The genius with which BB Easton weaves this story together is, well, I don’t have adequate words for it. I’m gobsmacked. What I will say, is that if you loved The Devil of Dublin, then you will love this book. It is so much more than I could have ever expected. And when she said “I need you to take a deep breath, leave all your expectations right here, and go in with an open mind. This story is not what you think. It’s more. It’s … everything.” I did just that. I hope you do too. I won’t tell you anything that happens in it because I refuse to ruin the life altering experience of this masterpiece.

I’m going to be honest, I was sent an ARC of this book by Valentine PR which I was ecstatic over! However, I found myself hesitant to start it because I knew, just knew, the audiobook was going to smash it out of the park. So I waited until release day to listen to the audiobook while eyeball reading the ARC along with it. I’m so glad I did that, which is something I haven’t done before. So, I want to thank BB Easton and Valentine PR for the ARC. But I’m so glad I waited, because that audiobook experience was EVERYTHING.

I finished this book in about 36 hours, only stopping because I had to sleep and my AirPods died lol. I’ve never been as moved by a book as with this one. I’ve never cried, sobbed, gasped, laughed (a bit!), and clutched my chest as much as with this book. When the credits rolled I sat and sobbed for ten minutes straight. I have a major book hangover and I don’t know how to move on from here. BB Easton and Eric Nolan created literal magic. I will never NOT tell everyone who will listen about this book. I didn’t think BB could top TDOD, but damn, she did.

It’s like I experienced a rebirth listening to this audiobook. I went in as one person and came out a whole new me. Odette O’Beirne and Eric Nolan pulled me through the war torn streets of Ireland. Made me feel the agony, pain, and sacrifice the characters were experiencing. There is literal magic in this story and I’ve never read anything like it. BB Easton changed me with her writing, and I’ll never be the same. Everyone needs to read, or better yet, listen to this book. Go in with an open mind. Because you will be different, better, at The End.

The entire cast of narrators were stunning, from Nolan to new to me O’Beirne and Laurence Killen, and the return of Elizabeth Klett. This audiobook was one of the best I’ve listened to. The range of emotions that were brought out in each of the characters, whether we loved them or not, were next level amazing. I am in awe of each narrator and their level of skill in this story. Thank you for bringing such talent, hard work, and dedication to my ears. You were each amazing, and together you were astounding.

🦭“This man wasn’t my salvation. My glimmer of sunshine in the midst of a storm. He was the goddamn lightning.”
🦭“Because deep down, I didn’t want to go to heaven. I wanted to stay there, in hell, with him.”
🦭“She looked … heavenly. A crimson angel of pain.”
🦭“I’d stay like this, with her, until the last star in the sky imploded, and then I’d float with her in the stagnant abyss.”
🦭“You want my c*m, angel?”
🦭“Oh f***. That’s it, darlin’. That’s my girl. Let go. I’ve got ya. Let go.”
🦭“That’s my f***in’ angel. Look at you.”

BB Easton is BRILLIANT

I effing cried from effin chapter one til the very end. Both of these books are remarkable. I’ve never been as in love with a story and characters as much as this work of art. It took me so long to listen to this last book bc I could only mentally handle a few chapters at a time. It broke me over and over again and my fragile heart just couldn’t. OMG how in the heck does this authors brain work this way? I’ve read and listened to thousands of books and these two books are my all time favorite. Eric Nolan is ridiculously brilliant as Kellen/Damien. Single best narrator ever. BB I kneel at your throne a loyal subject and am humbled by your wonderful mind. Thank you

A Devilishly Good Listen

BB Easton's "The Devil Himself" is a wild ride that blends fantasy and romance in a way that'll leave you questioning reality. Our heroine, scarred by the past, finds comfort in a fictional fairy prince. Fast forward years, and she's face-to-face with a real-life, brooding Russian officer who's as dangerous as he is alluring.

The story is a rollercoaster of emotions, with sizzling chemistry, heart-pounding suspense, and a whole lot of darkness. It's a twisted love story that'll keep you hooked until the very end.

If you're into dark romance with a touch of fantasy, this book is for you. Just be warned, once you start reading, you won't be able to put it down.

Interesting plot twist

I love this story and how it ended up relating to the previous story! Not to mention the best Narration I've thoroughly enjoyed it. So sad it's over.

The MOST EMOTIONAL BOOK OF THE YEAR!

Eric Nolan's performance in The Devil Himself is nothing short of magnificent! It's his best narration so far. I don't say that lightly, as his performances in Devil of Dublin and this year's Leather & Lark, are two of my all-time favorite audios.

I just finished listening for the second time. The first time was through an ALC (Advanced Listener Copy). And I am still not ok. This is an experience that's been hard to wrap my head around the wreckage that is my heart, even after rereading it. Narrator Eric Nolan is truly BRILLIANT. And from the first to the last chapter I was on the edge of my seat with my heart in my throat. The partnership between author BB Easton and narrator Eric Nolan is nothing short of perfection! This sequel is nothing what I expected, but everything I needed! I highly recommend listening to the audio for maximum experience. This is the MOST EMOTIONAL BOOK OF THE YEAR! It's perfection!

I recommend going into this story blind & staying away from spoilers. And like BB says in her opening words, take a deep breath, let go of any expectations you have, and enjoy the beautiful ride. And maybe have a reading buddy for moral support. This duet is best shared with a friend.

Check trigger warnings as this is a dark romance with sensitive situations & trauma.
