Having already actually read this volume. Ms. Nolen did an outstanding job in her reading of this. Highly anticipating the next volume and the return of Ms. Nolen to continue her fantastic work.

Great series!

I continue to be amazed by Virgil and the amount of quality content he puts out. I've been waiting for book 2 on the edge of my seat. I can't get enough of this series. The duet narration is spectacular. Get it now!

Awesome Sequel

When it comes to a sequel, I am personally looking for everything that made the last book worth it and then some. In my opinion that is this book. Virgil Knightley is up front about the types of stories that he tells which tend to be heavy on the “spice.” There's no apologies or mysteries about what you're getting when you read one of his books. I'm entertained by them which is why I keep coming back to the works that he's putting out and if that's your jam I think you're going to enjoy it as well. Book 3 (in eBook format) already has a release date posted on Amazon which is March 10, 2023. The narration team is top notch in my opinion. I honestly don't want to risk spoiling anything for anybody reading my review. I will go ahead and put my book 1 review below this for anybody new to the series and thinking of giving it a shot. Lastly, I'll just say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the Audible listeners.

Book 1 Review

This book starts out relatively similar to some others in that there is a goddess or in this case an emissary of a goddess who approaches our would-be hero and offers him a new life in a new world. Sort of, as in this case she touches him with the gem and says when he dies here, he'll be transported there. This leaves an opening for the writer to touch on life between his chance encounter and when he's transported away shortly after his death. Our hero basically overwrites his alternate reality self but retains some of that alternate realities’ memories. He runs into an orc lady and then later a demonkin lady. They set up an inn because our hero is a massage therapist and that's exactly what he's going to do in this new world with monsters and magic. The magic gives his skill a boost which he uses for good. Of course, his alternate reality self used to be somebody of note and our hero is going to have to deal with that notoriety. There is a little Easter egg to one of this authors other series. There are definitely some surprises in the second half of the book. This is my new favorite book from this author, and I definitely look forward to more. The second book in this series is already out in eBook form. Usually, I cannot wait for the next audio release and go straight into the e-book, but this time around I'm going to wait for the audiobook, and it has to do with the fantastic job the narrators did. I absolutely, positively loved the voice Reneé Nolen chose for Samaya. Honestly, it's freaking perfect for the character. Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us the audible listeners and I cannot wait for what comes next.

great series but I feel like the best is yet to...

come. I like a lot of vk stuff but this is my favorite series. it's very slice of "simple" life most of the time but you can feel the tension mounting. the action is great, the comedy is better. the characters are all well written, especially sammy. her character made me laugh out loud multiple times. the mc is building quite the team and I can't wait to see where it ends up. the narration team was great but Renee's performance steals the show. the sammy voiice especially. highly recommend

How does Knightley make this series work!
It's a story about a masseuse, and he has a mastery power of massage.
I don't know how he does it. But he does it and he does it amazingly well.
The story continues here in book two very smoothly.
The harem still has to contend with all the trials of living in the neutral territory between two antagonistic countries. And they have to protect themselves from those that are hunting some of them, AND those females that fall for the MC after getting a massage from him.
Narrators do an amazing job, as usual.
If you liked the first one you're definitely going to like this one!

So good

The second book is just as good as the first. The plot continues and it gets deeper. As the MC progresses through the story his memories return and it is a delight. I recommend this second book and am looking forward to the next book.

Great Story Continuation

This story keeps getting better as is continues. Virgil Knightley continues to impress me with his stories and the characters he creates. This series has grown in depth for me and I have enjoyed it whole heartedly. Its never easy for this group to just live a simple quiet life. Backgrounds continue to hinder the desired peace. Im really looking forward to book 3.

The narration by Renée Nolen and Trevor Jordan has been great. From the different characters to the depth of telling the story the narration has performed flawlessly.
