Dropping pounds! Ohhhh yeah!
Here's the deal...none of us are getting any younger, and overtime, our metabolism changes. Most of us are not as active as we once were, and we need to be more aware of the foods we eat. When I was younger, I could eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and still stay thin. But, as I got older, I realized I needed to make some changes if I was going to maintain a healthy weight. Over the past few months, I've noticed that while doing laundry, my clothes have been shinking. Is it a new soap? Different temp of water? Hmmmm....actually, no. My clothes are not shrinking. I'm just not as active as I used to be, my metabolism is slowing down, and my eating habits need to be more healthy! Ohhh, I see! :-)
Finding this short audiobook titled Metabolism: 13 Easy Habits to Boost Your Metabolism and Burn Fat While You Are Sleeping by Frank Richards, Narrated by Mike Norgaard, made me quite happy! Change is hard, but when you make changes that easily fit into your everyday lifestyle, things aren't so difficult because they seem less noticeable, sometimes giving the feeling of no change at all! Also, we have to be ready and willing to make a change if we want to see results. Well, I'm ready, I'm willing, and I'm definitely planning on incorporating some of these ideas into my daily routine! I love the length if this book...only 30 minutes, and it's filled with helpful information that almost anyone can follow, without fail. It isn't at all overwhelming, because it isn't long and drawn out. There are only 13 habits presented, along with useful information/explanations about specific foods, so it seems very doable. And, you don't have to do all 13; just choose the one(s) that fit you best and slowly add more as time goes on.. or don't. The best part is that it is your life, so it is up to you! :-) This isn't a diet, either. This is a guide to help you learn to kick your metabolism in gear so that you can lose or maintain a healthy weight, while making small nutritional changes. Let's do this!
I know I should take my own advice with the length of this review, but sometimes less IS more. If there were 100 habits presented, I might have gotten the feeling that there are too many habits/changes that I need to make in order to be successful. This may have even caused me to quit before I started. Thank you for making this easy to follow, short guide, Frank Richards! And thank you, Mike Norgaard, for doing the narration exactly as you did! Your voice was confident and positive. You successfully presented the information to me in a way that was easy to hear, understand, and you did it all at a perfect pace! I definitely plan to check out the resources you mentioned at the end of this audiobook for future use! Awesome! Overall, I rate this audiobook 5/5 stars across the board. It included just the right amount of information, the performance was engaging, and it gave me a variety of healthy options to easily add to my day! I highly recommend this to others interested in health and nutrition, especially those wanting to hear more about metabolism and weight management.
