Acerca de esta escucha

This complete set includes all three books in the Dragon Force series: Invisible Born, Invisible Bound, and Invisible Rider.

Invisible when no one should be, Anira is an outcast, forced to hide from the chieftain who rules her clan with an iron fist.

He is their savior. Akin to a god. The path to their survival.

Only, he isn't. Not by a long shot.

He is their greatest enemy, hidden within their midst. The most dangerous threat of all.

No one sees him for who he is, but her. The one whose very existence is a guaranteed death sentence, should she be discovered. Worse, she is a twin, and the chieftain has forbidden all twins. If she is revealed, her brother will die too.

But Anira is the only one who realizes who the chieftain really is.

She must decide what is more important: her own survival and that of her twin, or that of her entire people and the dragons they are sworn to protect.

When a baby dragon, left for dead, is the first to ever see her, it's up to the two of them to do what must be done.

** The Dragon Force series is an action-packed, magical adventure suitable for listeners of all ages. **

FAITHUM

OK, if an author is going to make up a word, that's great, wonderful even. However, if that author then decides to include that word in EVERY SINGLE FREAKING SENTENCE...that is not so great or wonderful. No, that makes me want to pull my hair out. Actually, when I first start realizing the frequency of the repetition, I roll my eyes. Then it turns into literally shaking my head while rolling my eyes. When I hit the point that I HAVE to pause the book so I can leave a review about ONE WORD?! Well, that should give you an idea of the increased frequency as the story progresses.

The first book wasn't as bad about it, but I am on the second book, at the end of chapter 10, and am beyond irritated! The other thing I guess that probably makes it worse is that the word literally means magic. They even reference that their ancestors referred to it as magic.

The thing that sucks the most about how much this irritates me, is that if not for that word being beaten to a bloody pulp it's used so much, I am really enjoying this story otherwise. Why didn't an editor (or the poor narrator for that matter) tell the author how incredibly irritating this is?!?!

Coming of age

Pros: I loved the concept of this story and the characterizations too. Interesting world setting. Baby dragon very cute!! Development of magic is interesting. Even the main character's main problem of being a twin (if caught painful death) and invisible (to avoid that painful death) is interesting.

Cons: I have little patience with dithering or illogical choices. I especially dislike it when someone dithers for a long(ish) period of time, makes a decision, then does the complete opposite. I know the main character was only 17 years old, but when she goes to the elders for advise, believes it to be good advise from people she can trust - then feels she must do the opposite, on more then one occasion, deep sigh....

Okay

This series is okay but due to the young protagonist it is restrained and gentler than what you might expect with a despot ruler and a totalitarian society. It would benefit from a bit more action and strife.

Start by believing in yourself

(As posted in Goodreads)
I love the book! It's actually a series of three books, and it explores the personal doubts and inconsistencies in the main character's life, and we her accept her abilities and The things that have always been denied her since birth. She grows into a strong character that works to correct the injustices to all of the members of her community , brought on and enforced by the evil ruler and head.
I don't like the final voice in the last book, but I guess I can deal with it. Fortunately, it doesn't have much of a speaking a role.
