Acerca de esta escucha

Part Irish, part Native-American, Sheriff Cork O'Connor serves the remote territory of Tamarack County, Minnesota. But big trouble is brewing: a powerful man believes O'Connor killed his son. Now there's a price on the sheriff's head and a bullet in his leg. He finds refuge with his cousin, Jewell, and her teenage son, Ren, in their tiny Michigan town. But when Ren and his friends are threatened, O'Connor must risk his cover to find out why.

Copper River opens with a terrifying scene that sets the tone for the suspense that grows stronger with each succeeding chapter. The narrator's taut performance underscores O'Connor's vulnerability and his vigilance.

Author William Kent Krueger has won two Anthony Awards for his gripping Cork O'Connor mysteries. Set in remote areas of the northwest, each book in the series launches the Minnesota lawman into challenges that push his endurance to new limits.

Lo que los oyentes dicen sobre Copper River

Con calificación alta para:

The Audiobook "copper River" By William Kent Krueger, Narrated By David Chandler, Is Part Of The Cork O'connor Mystery Series. It Continues The Storyline From The Previous Book, With Cork On The Run After Being Framed For Murder. He Finds Refuge With His Cousin In The Upper Peninsula Of Michigan, Near The Copper River. However, Cork Soon Becomes Embroiled In A Disturbing Local Mystery Involving Missing And Abused Children. The Book Explores Themes Of Family, Native American Heritage, And Humanity's Connection With Nature, While Also Delving Into The Dark Subject Of Child Exploitation. Many Reviewers Praised The Engaging Storyline, Intriguing Mystery, Compelling Characters, And Vivid Descriptions Of The Wilderness Setting. However, Some Found The Plot Unbelievable, The Themes Too Disturbing, And The Resolution Unsatisfying. Overall, It's A Suspenseful And Thought-provoking Entry In The Series, Though Not Without Its Flaws.

Book is good narrator could be improved

First audible book of series for me, read all other as e-books. Narrator is irritating to listen too, his breathing is noticeable and annoying, interfering with the story. Hope he improves for future books, or I will just stick to the e-book format.

In my opinion

Loved the narrator. sometimes I feel like the author hits the end and is done when not everything feels finished. love his stuff, though. And love his narrator.

Redeemed

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes - after my disappointment with Mercy Falls, this book redeemed the series for me. I took a break from the series, but was pleasantly surprised, this book was much better and was interesting and the plot kept me going easily on this one.

What does David Chandler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is a wonderful narrator - he is clear and easy to understand, I like his ability to distinguish characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Almost...

Any additional comments?

Sad to see the next 5 books are not narrated by David Chandler, I will see how I do with the new reader, but the change of readers can be hard as you get to know the characters and how the reader brings them to life. I can't see from the sample that the new reader will be anywhere as good as David Chandler.

Good series, earlier books were better

I am enjoying the series. Like this book better than the previous one, but not as much as the first 3.

Action packed with a heart and conscience

I love this series. The characters have developed throughout and are believable. Native American lore is subtly woven into the story, as are glimpses into the lives of Native Americans. The Native American characters are not stereotypes. The action is constant, the main character,Cork, is a man of conscience who makes hard decisions
