Wow, Ms Knight has cleverly packed a whole heap of trouble into this second exciting book and its triple POV chapters certainly kept up the suspense and drama in a very enjoyable way. There’s also tension and twists.. violence and deaths.. enemies and bad deeds.. simmers and sex.. secrets exposed and explosive endings. As well as healing and forgiveness.. and happy ever afters. Amatao, Bastion and Vittoria are flawed characters, they’ve been through Hell, they’re emotionally and physically damaged but, at the end of this riveting listen.. and with some much needed character growth, they finally find peace. The narration by Stefanie and James brought the fast-paced action, the characters, the heat, horror, hopeless, heavy, happy and the hearts desires to life and delivered a five star performance.
Worth a credit? Yes definitely, a very distracting fairly dark listen.
