Great story
This was a great story. Very unpredictable. Which made all the more amazing. The reader did well and I loved how she changed her voice with the many male characters. The cliff hanger was great. If you read this story you have to read the second one. Amazing job.

Didn't see this ending!
Gabby Masterson has been in love with Christoff her whole life. Little did she know the family secrets would change her life forever. She starts her life over in California as Brie Masters. Life may seem to be normal but life with the mafia never stays normal. We can run away but our secrets always follow us. The story does flip back and forth between present and past but it keeps you captivated. The book does end in a cliffhanger.......on to Both of Us!

Intriguing
I have read all the rest of Amber’s books and decided to go to the beginning. I am in awe that this was her debut book. This was nothing like her other books. This story jumps from past to present which I’m usually not a fan of but was intricate to the story. It helps to establish why Gabby is now Brie and what has caused her to flee.
Both Nelson Hobbs and Lauren Sweet are new to me narrators. We don’t hear but one chapter from Nelson but it was just what Cross’s voice needed. Lauren did an excellent job conveying all of Gabby/Brie’s emotions and get me entertained throughout the entire book.
I don't want to give away much but know you will be taken on an emotional journey that will keep you on the edge wanting to know what happens next. I’m looking forward to diving into the next book and getting the rest of Cross & Gabby’s story. I know it’s going to be an emotional roller-coaster.
