First Nana Malone book and I’m hooked!!

This book was so much fun! It’s my first Nana Malone book and I will definitely be back for more. This has everything, a sassy fun heroine, a swoon-worthy alpha male and lots of humor and intrigue. I can tell that some of the characters must be from previous novels so I’ll have to go and check out her catalog. I listened to this on Audible and WOW that Shane East is something! And I adored how feisty Mari was! I’m relatively new to Audible books but I totally enjoyed these narrators. Bring on the next book in this part of the series, The Benefactor!

Wild Ride!

You can always count on Nana Malone to give you page turning suspense. I love the beginning of Ben and Livy story. These two had instant attraction and tons of chemistry. Ben and his friends are looking to avenge their friends death and Livy gets thrown into the mix after meeting Ben. Shane East and Mari narrate this book and do a wonderful job voicing Ben and Livy. Shane brings out Ben’s charm and Mari does a great job portraying Livy’s strength. If you love heart pounding action with spice thrown in definitely pick up the start of the See No Evil trilogy.

Fabulous!!

What a fun and flirty book! But the story itself has lots of intense and dangerous escapades and sooo many secrets! The sexual chemistry between Ben and Olivia is off the charts. But she’s a good girl in a relationship and won’t allow herself to go down that path...or will she?
Shane East is at his sultry sexiest in this book. He could narrate a phone book and make it sound great. But when you have him reading a great book by Nana Malone... it’s the best treat for your ears!
This is the first book I’ve heard Mari narrate and I was so pleasantly surprised. She really did a good job making the emotions come through! Her subtle giggles and gasps were spot on! Besides a couple mispronunciations, she was fantastic!
Loved everything about this book...especially the cliffhanger at the end!!

Action and suspense, with a side of steamy hot

It’s going to be the hardest review to write, because I don’t want to give anything of the plot. There are multiple mysteries in the story, and they should all come as surprises. Yet I want to convey how much I enjoyed it.

I had listened to Mari once before, and I still love her style. She’s a great narrator, and is perfect for the black heroine–sassys and classy. On the other side, it was my first long listen to Shane East, and I discovered a talented narrator, with several different voices to give life to all the characters. Together, they make for a really good audiobook.

As for the story, let’s just say that you have your usual playboy billionaire reformed by love, and your sexy heroine who lacks self confidence and can’t believe the attention she gets from the hot guy. Throw in a secret society and mysterious threats for the heroine, and you get your share of action and suspense, with a side of steamy hot.

Be warned though that it ends on a cliffhanger, and you’ll want to know what happens next by reading book 2.

Love the story. Love the characters.

The narrators are awesome. I enjoyed the casual writing style. The cliffhanger at the end leaves me really excited for book 2!

This book was everything! I can't wait to listen to the sequel. I could have done without hearing Jesus EF'ING Christ completely. I've never been a fan of that. Beyond that I would have given the book 10 stars if I could have. It started out a little slow. However, once it got rolling there was action, suspense, sexy accents, and more than a few eye brow raising moments. Great book! It's exactly what I had been looking for.

A great start!

Story: I will be the first to admit I don't do well with duos and trilogies because I need answers right now, but I took the chance knowing I would not get a HEA at the end of this listen. But that's okay, because the story is definitely worth it. We're getting to know Ben and Livvie..what makes them tick and how they end up running to each other. All these things keep happening to Livvie and she doesn't know why. A mystery needs solving. We get introduced to Livvie's BFF and Ben's band of brothers and we get the details of a great world-building. But don't worry...we do get *some* satisfaction...the problem is, it's short-lived because the book ends on a cliffhanger. I know, I know...it's not great when a book ends like that!... I am invested and I need to know what happens!!!

Performance: Shane East and Mari are some of the best narrators in romance and their performance is simply FLAWLESS. They both engage with the story beautifully and their magic is the cherry on top. I'll listen to anything these two narrate!

Weak Olivia

I can’t stand how weak and stupid Olivia’s character is. The way she couldn’t see Dexter’s cheating; but could get so angry at Ben for not telling her about cheating that was so blatantly in her face. Many people choose not to say anything about cheating; he didn’t lie, he chose not to tell her. Olivia did other things that were just senseless. I can’t see this as realistic at all. I love Ben; he has all of the traits women dream of. Narrators were fabulous. Would have been a 5 star review had Olivia not been so obnoxiously stupid.

Amazing start to the trilogy!

I was going to wait until the third book in this trilogy was released to start reading, but I just kept hearing how good it was that I couldn't wait. The suspense, action and characters in this series are phenomenal.

Olivia and Ben are both strong, determined and passionate people. Ben gets one look at Olivia and he's instantly drawn to her, like a moth to a flame. His desire to protect her, his determination to prove to her that she is worth more than what he is getting now, and her desire to find more for herself comes right off the page. The drama and adventure are getting really good, too! Can't wait for more.

The audiobook for this was FANTASTIC! Both Shane East and Mari injected to much emotion and drama in their narration, and it really enhanced the story. I can't wait for the rest of the series!
